Sweeeeet. Where's my gold star?
Can you guys ensure me if gigabyte gtx 560ti is gonna be compatible with my gigabyte fsb 1066 ga-945gcmx-s2? I understand its power wouldn't be fully used since i have core 2 duo, but I need to buy the graphics card quickly, before the rest of the hardware(processor, motherboard) later. Quick help much appreciated!
Are the first gen bulldozers worth holding onto my AM3+ mobo for a bit longer (as I may upgrade to one eventually from my Phenom II), or should I consider investing in a new socket?
It should but what is your PSU?
copied a rar archive to a dvd on my dad's computer running vista x64, the bluray drive on my computer won't see the archive and it says it has 0 bytes free and 0 bytes used
went on my brother's computer to see if it would work, also running vista x64, and he could see the archive
help
What should I be thinking, or looking for if I'm looking for a new processor? Any links to how I would install it too? Thanks :>
Right here, you've earned it!

Find all CPU's that match the socket of your MoBo. Then within that list find the ones that are compatible with your chipset.

Most of my usb devices are giving "No driver found/ Could not successfully find drivers" errors. Would reinstalling windows 7 have a chance at fixing this or am I wasting my time?
I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers in Device Manager, I've tried the /scannow command in cmd, and I've tried reinstalling the USB controllers.
Need to sell this computer, how much can I get?
Intel E5400 2.7Ghz overclocked to 3.2Ghz
4GB DDR3 ram
AMD Radeon HD 4670 1GB
200 GB Hard Drive
DVD reader/burner
4x USB PCI CARD
Optional sound card PCI
460W MSI power supply
Cooler Master Elite 330
I'd say ~$450 at the most, give or take $50
What's the best videocard I can get for gaming, for ~$100? Preferably Nvidia but I've heard ATI is cheaper so idgaf
6770/5770, or 460 if you're lucky.
So, I have got a non-working pc. It doesn't pass the POST, because I didn't hear any beep at all, this suggests that either the memory or the power supply is faulty, am I right?
My mother said that the pc stopped working when her dog flipped the powerswitch of the electricity socket. She could boot one more time resulting in a blue screen, and now it doesn't work at all.
One of my fans is not spinning but the LED's are on. Anyone know what's going on?
Fan motor is dead.
I think I'm going to be getting an ATI 7970 this week as my current 5770 is really holding me back.
I have a few questions before I buy though:
- What manufacture do you guys recommend, in terms of RMA and reliability?
- Do you recommend I get an after market cooler(depending on the manufacture most likely)?
- If this power usage calculator is accurate(http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine), it says my computer would use 496W under 100% load, and I currently have a Arctic Power 500W PSU. Obviously I don't want to risk my computer blowing up, so please let me know if I need a new PSU and any recommendations you may have.
I was going to wait for the nVidia 685(GK110) to come out but I can't see any benefit of waiting, but I'm open to debate. Thanks guys
EDIT:
I ended up buying a whole new computer with an nVidia 680
Anyone want to throw me a price for this computer
PSU Corsair TX750W (v1)
HDD 1TB WD CB and ~300gb WD
XFX 4870
AMD phenom II 2.5ghz quad (I don't even remember the model number at this point)
mobo is dead.
case and AM cooler round to $50
etc round to $20
all but the 1TB hard drive are old (~2009) he paid 600 for it when he got it.
arctic power is poop, I would not run a 7970 on most 500W PSU, let alone arctic pooper
Hey, I have this monitor:
http://www.dell.com/ed/business/p/dell-u2212h/pd
And I just bought a PS3. Now, my TV is an ancient CRT and I simply can't see shit on it. If I were to get an HDMI female to DVI male, could I hook my PS3 into this monitor? And if I could, how would I play sound on it?
Does a pair of RAM go on the two slots of the same color, or the two slots next to each other?
Two slots of the same colour.
-snip I was wrong-
what's a good 2 or 3 tb hdd that wont fail after a month or some bs like that
Yeah, I think that'll work for the video. As far as the audio, hook up a multi-out cable and tell the PS3 to use AV MULTIOUT for audio output, and get an adapter cable for RCA audio to 3.5mm (both ends female) so you can hook up the L and R audio to a speaker.
so wheres the 7990
any news on that
i'm out of the hardware loop
Sup guys, few quick questions, my PC runs hot, it's currently in a really cramped case, would getting a bigger one cool it somewhat? And, what's a good card to upgrade to from the GTX 260? My other specs are
CPU
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
RAM
12.0 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz
Motherboard
MSI X58M
Edited:
Any issues with this PC aren't really my fault, I didn't build it, got it for a steal from a friend who didn't need it.
What case have you got?
Does it have any cable management? If not try managing the cables; that would give you good airflow.
I'm considering upgrading my PC a little and I just wonder if buying a Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5, Intel Core i7 3820 and Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9 is worth it.
Currently, I have a Core i7 930, Corsair Dominator DHX+ 6GB DDR3 RAM and a ASUS P6T SE motherboard. I'll be keeping the same graphics card that I have now (HD5870).
Apparently, the i7 3820 has similar performance to the i7 3770K according to tests done on Sweclockers.se so I really can't decide if it really is worth upgrading my PC with said parts.

Wow, those are dirt cheap as well. Thanks man.

Would a cable like this work as well?
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimit...dp/B0007MWE1E/
It's an HDMI-DVI Male-Male cable.
I don't see why it wouldn't.
Edited:
Also, would the normal composite out cord that comes with the PS3 work with the stereo splitter? The one that looks like this?
http://www.amazon.com/Composite-Vide...ef=pd_sim_vg_3
Again, I'm not seeing why not.
Edited:
Actually I had one lying around the house and it seems to work just fine.
Yep, I used to play ps3 like that, and I'd hook the audio up to my computer and play it through that
Hey, I've got a few software questions that hopefully someone will be able to answer:
Me and a friend have recently become 'DJs' at an online radio show for a community, and we had decided that we wanted to make a joint show and broadcast at the same time. I have the music, so I'll be broadcasting from my own computer using VirtualDJ Pro Full, and broadcasting myself with music works fine
The problem arose earlier when I tried to use Stereo Mix to gain the output from our Skype call and input it through into Virtual DJ - the problem with this, however, was that as the sound was being input, Virtual DJ was once again outputting this for the input to be re-received (massive wubbing noise basically)
So to cancel this out, I decided to mute the Virtual DJ output from the Volume Mixer panel - this worked on his behalf as it cancelled out the continuous sound, but for some reason meant that my microphone's output was not being input (if that makes any sense)
Tl;Dr; I need a way of channelling audio, similar to Stereo Mix, that will only output my Skype chat by creating a new 'recording device'
Thanks a lot and hopefully that wasn't all gibberish (I did re-read it and it mostly made sense...)
I bee needin' a new keyboard and mouse and mine are very old now.
No budget and it would be nice if they were black and blue or just black. Main uses for gaming.
Alright, awesome. I bought the cord and it should come in ~1 week.
Are you a palm grip? Claw Grip? Do you want a clicky mechanical keyboard? Do you need macro keys, etc?
imo, it's impossible to recommend a mouse over the internet because everyone likes a different mouse. I hate big mice like the MX518 but my friend loves it.
For mice, find somewhere local and see how they fit in your hand, etc.
As for keyboards, what kind of features are you looking for, etc?
Logitech and Razer both make decent keyboards. There's some better brands than Razer if you want a good mechanical (DAS Model S, Ducky Shine, etc).
Is there a cheap way I can record xbox gameplay? I have a video camera that has a cable going from the camera to the red white yellow prongs. I don't want to spend $500 and record 1080p machinima, I'm just willing to spend a little bit to record silly shit with my friends.
I use a Logitech M510 wireless mouse. It's pretty smooth and the batteries last long time.
You can get a USB composite (red, white, yellow connections) capture card for about $30, just make sure to read feedback since they don't always support x64 versions of Windows. If you want to play on a TV at the same time, you may need some splitters.
