Not even close to done, but to get some monkeys off my back I took what I've done so far and taken a picture of it:

Only the eyelid flexes are done so far, and he's quite a pain to pose, but here's proof I am actually doing something.

Looks great. Just wondering: do you know which one you're going to do after Knuckles? Obviously one on that list but which specifically.

i'm working on (another) mapping project with a couple of friends. i've been hunting through the files, but i want to know

where can i find the silhouetted version of the time eater? (of course i'll only be using it as a dynamic model). i want to nab it and use it in the opening cutscene of this next project.

anyone who has decompiled the .cpks (i.e. the porters in this thread), can you tell me which .cpk it's stored in?

the silhouette i'm speaking of is in this cutscene
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=479_FAA4uC0

and possibly where i can nab the music from that scene?

The "ev053" folder is one of the ones that has the cutscene Time Eater model (as "ev_Boss_TimeEaterOP_HD.model"). As for the music, the official soundtrack has it -- "Cutscene 1".

I think so, looks like they might be the ones with "ef_if_plm_yh1_deadend_" at the beginning, though I could be mistaken.

    More progress on Knuckles:

Got a few mouth flexes done and fixed up the fingerposing. Still need to tweak the physics a bit, make a few more flexes and then make a mirrored mouth version.

There might actually be a problem with that... So far, out of the three 3D-ripping programs I've got, only one worked with S4E2 -- 3D Ripper DX. I was trying to get the Metal Sonic model for ApocHedgie, and 3DVia Printscreen and GameAssassin both failed, and 3D Ripper DX's models don't have any UV mapping for the exported models...

Probably. I'd take a look at it myself, but I know diddly-squat about models that aren't in the MDL0 format (since EP1/2 use the "ZNO" format instead of something more known).

...I do have a few ideas, though.

    ZNO format huh...
almost as bad as using XNO format to store unique-to-game models.

it turns out the time eater was 31k. i made a false calculation yesterday. i just tried optimizing it and got it down to 27k polies, but it still won't load. i'm going to have to find a way to get it lower; maybe about 22k, which is chell's model.

Great! Now people may be capable of porting it to Generations and try to recreate a Modern version of Sonic VS Metal Sonic.
I'd like to see it's profile on the character section of Sonic's Room, in place of Classic Metal Sonic (NOTE: Not the Statue Room)
