eww downpour had mounted MGs covering the center of the map... made it impossible to do leeroy jenkins rushes (That sometimes worked). Limited your options to ~2 routes, in crossfire you can smoke the center and rush through. Can't really do that on downpour since the mounted MGs just chatter away.
Crossfire had one flaw (easy arcs for projectile weapons to spawnrape) and that was the ability to cross-map 203, and nade spam over one specific wall
if it was only 20 feet higher... problem solved.

Downpour was shit IMO. Am I the only one who really enjoyed Backlot? Vibrant outlay. I just loved it because you could easily snipe, or just run around with a shotgun. You don't see many of those maps in the current CoD's. Nowadays a map is either FOR snipers, or FOR rushing with sub machine guns. There aren't that many in betweens from what I've seen.

yes downpour was shit. Backlot was decent, I liked Pipeline more. Pipeline was one of those only maps that was FUN with max playercount. And that center mounted MG was a deathwish because of snipers.
nah, you just need an assault rifle and you're set. Snipers are relatively "handicapped" on that map.

Yeah, I guess. I also liked Bog a lot. Not too dark, and it's probably the only night map I actually liked in a CoD. Also, the map pack for this game was flawless. It was purely amazing IMO. I feel the game wouldn't have been as good if they released more than one map pack, just like all the other CoDs.

Favorite map right now is Crash. And Winter Crash is pretty cool too.

So I have been playing this game about 2 weeks now and all I can say is that its bland.
Its not bad or good, just bland.
While COD4 was a medium-rare cooked, tasty steak and MW2 was just plain raw , MW3 seems like a very bland and badly seasoned well done steak. You can eat it and it takes away your hunger, but it wasnt an experience you would pay 60 euros for.
Even MW2 was more of an experience even though it was way too raw. It messed up your stomach but atleast you remembered that steak for the rest of your life as an experience.
MW3 is awell done game, but I like mine medium-rare.

Yep. It's a bland version of MW2 really. A somewhat 'stale' version of MW2 to be more precise. Black Ops was VERY bland, but that's just Black Ops. I love Black Ops.

Me too. I expect people to move back to MW2 and BO quite fast.
And IMO Black Ops wasnt stale or boring, its just a slower paced game with fun and well designed maps. Also its very nicely balanced, Treyarch really supports the game with patches and hotfixes. I doubt that IW will be supporting MW3 that much (look at COD4 and MW2).
How long did it take from IW to fix those damn rock glitches on different maps. I remember being shocked when the same glitches were in the game after 1 year. Also the horrible netcode... sigh.

no but just think like every 2 minutes the plane shifts throwing everyone in the air it's be pretty bs in some cases but still, so much chaos

In MW2, I joined a modded lobby. One of those fun gun game ones, but for some reason I had a player menu that had a bunch of cheats and shit such as silent aimbot, etc. Am I gonna get VAC banned?

I hate it when I'm pretty far away from someone, and pump the trigger and get hit-hit-and then they just start spraying and kill me instantly. "You don't need to be more accurate, you just need to shoot more bullets!"

How come the weapon stats that the menu shows in every game since and including CoD4 are complete bullshit? For example it says the damage is higher for one weapon than another while it is the complete opposite.
I don't get it.

New ELITE Maps are absolutely terrible, which comes to fucking no surprise at all. IW should not make another CoD, much less 50 more map packs. You're probably thinking "You can't complain, you got them for free!" Not really. On Piazza, on the B flag, is where the enemy team LITERALLY spawns. You can watch them spawn right next to the flag. Headglitches x 1000 compared to the regular maps. If you're thinking about buying ELITE for the maps, I suggest you don't as you will not be very pleased at all. Plus you'll just be encouraging IW to make another CoD, which nobody wants.

I really regret buying MW3. The maps are horrid, the weapons are unbalanced, and the spawns are perhaps the worst I've ever seen. I don't expect anything to be actually fixed, since the developers are too preoccupied with pumping out their shitty map packs.

The singleplayer is a little more bearable, but it's still doesn't make up for the money I paid. The story is the kind of half-assed crap you'd expect from a freshman in high school to come up with. The missions are just the standard "shoot down never-ending wave of Russians, run to some point over there, shoot more Russians," with a few "Oh look you're piloting a chopper!!!" missions thrown in for good measure.

Bought MW3 for like $39 AUD yesterday, was so cheap I thought why not, its half what I paid for BF3, if its half as good I'm happy... It's not unplayable but its continuing the CoD trend of being worse than the game before it. Also yeah, sniper is brutally OP lol. Get bolt action - win game.. Because if you cant make a body shot you've failed at FPS
Havent tried the SP yet, but given its a CoD game I'm expecting it to be good, possibly the redeemer of the game

I really think Mordern Warfare 3 is much better than MW2 or Black Ops aswell. The only OP weapon is the akimbo FMG9 really, but other than that it's good. The maps are great but the spawns still suck, though they did in the earlier games aswell imo.

Tons of servers are still up for it. But they are all mostly shitstains on the record of online gaming. Banning weapons deemed "OP" by people who can't stand being killed due to their stupidity (grenade launcher rounds are quite easy to not get killed by, just don't get spotted in the first place). Shit "mods" like ~Pr0Modd~~~, and a bad community to boot.
If you manage to actually find a good server, fight with the shitty server browser to bookmark it, every so often a safe haven pops up.
