Props to Little Nemo for making this video
A video of the new Classic Mode. This is a convar which disables class switching, disables hammer and nail barricading, makes undead players in to a special Classic Zombie class, and makes the game much faster paced than normal.[/center]
I have recently decided to release the current version of Zombie Survival as well put up an SVN that will be kept updated. This is the full version I've been hosting for the last 2-3 years, minus whatever noxiousnet gimmicks that were in use like emotes, hats and that kind of stuff. NoXiousNet will continue to run and this version will receive the updates once they're tested enough on there. Countless additions, updates, changes, removals, etc. have gone in to this and it is nothing like the last version that was released roughly 3 years ago.

Zombie Survival? What's that about?
If you have to ask then you must have been living under a rock but I'll go through the basics for you.
You kill zombies! If you die then you turn in to a zombie (usually right on the spot so your former team members have to put you down). There are no NPC zombies. Humans get various tools such as barricading equipment, turrets, medical kits, and more. Damaging zombies will give you points. You can use these points with the arsenal crate deployable (you must select it when the round starts). The deployer also gets some points when people exchange points through their crate. You can purchase ammo, new weapons, new tools, and an assortment of other devices to make your life somewhat easier.
Once you're a zombie you can kill 4 humans to redeem. This will respawn you as a human with a basic loadout. There are an assortment of different zombie classes with their own special abilities. More classes get unlocked as the game progresses. The game will end if there are no more remaining humans or the last wave is over with at least one remaining human. The map maker can also specify custom winning conditions.
It might sound really simple but the gamemode is gigantic compared to most. It will be getting some pretty cool new things soon such as a rudimentary inventory and crafting system.
Out of the box, Zombie Survival is designed to be played with roughly 16 - 50 people and humans win about 5% of the time, depending on the map and players. Keep this in mind before you start up a server.
I already know all this, what's new with this version compared to the one I have from 2009?
A lot is. Here is the most obvious stuff though:
* It actually works and is supported.
* Points are distributed by damage instead of kills and assists.
* Barricading system revamp.
* Ability to very slowly phase through barricades as a human (Press Z by default).
* New zombies, new weapons, new tools, just tons more content.
* Integrated system for changing maps. Don't have to setup a map list anymore.
* Tons of console variables and client options for fine-tuning the game without actually editing it.
* An ass load of new mapping entities, outputs for existing entities, and other things make it easier to create intricate new maps. A whole bunch of massive, impressive objective-based maps have been created already. Best of all, you get to play them on your own server now.
* Dynamic spawning. Zombies are now able to spawn on top of other zombies that are out of view of humans. This makes it much easier to get back to the humans while you're a zombie and allows particularly large maps to still be played.
* Polished. I still have to redo a few things but it looks and behaves a lot better.
If you were running a custom version of the old ZS, you will definitely need to rewrite whatever changes or additions you made. The gamemode has been almost completely rewritten.

Where do I get maps for this?
Zombie Survival will adapt to whatever map you feed it. Obviously the best choice is zs_ maps but will also run great with zm_ (CS:S), de_, cs_, tdm_, etc.
There have been maybe 200+ maps created for ZS already so feel free to look for them. You can also download some directly from noxiousnet although you should check the date they were uploaded as some may not actually be used any more.

Mapping information
An FDG file is included in the gamemode folder. There is also more detailed information here: http://www.noxiousnet.com/forums/index.php?topic=2373.0
FAQ
Most of this can be found in the F1 menu but I'll go ahead and put some of the most asked questions here:
Q: Why do guns reload instantly or freeze in mid-air?
A: You need to have CS:S installed properly on the server. The cstrike folder needs to be copied from srcds/css/ to srcds/orangebox/ after you run the update tool.
Q: How do I change zombie?
A: F3
Q: How do you ghost through props?
A: Either your undo key or your walk key. This only works on barricade props.
Q: How do you lay down as a zombie (feign death)?
A: Sprint key (shift).
Q: How do you burrow as a head crab?
A: Reload (R). Only works on soft ground such as dirt and sand.
Q: How do you remove nails?
A: Reload with a hammer while pointing at the nail. You will be penalized for removing nails you don't own. If the owner of the nail is nearby then the nail will return to their inventory instead of yours.
Q: How do you buy guns?
A: Press USE on an arsenal crate. If there is no crate then you can't buy anything so make sure someone picks it up. If absolutely no one picks one up then one will spawn in a random human spawn point.
Q: How do you become a boss zombie?
A: The zombie with the highest damage to humans will become the boss. Up to three bosses can be spawned at once.
Q: What is Classic Mode?
A: A convar. Turning it on will disable all regular zombie classes, disable all boss zombies, disable barricading with the hammer, and make waves shorter but add more of them. It is a homage to Zombie Survival of old and makes the game much faster paced.
