OGS and TW sound fucking incredible. They're like RMA and a better version of SMP.

Gonna try The Warmongers.
Apparently the mutant spawn rate is so high one guy compared it to Serious Sam.![]()
Nothing beats rocket spam of Spartan 11:11, tho. Serious Sam trained me in taking down large hordes of critters too well.Unless it's pseudodogs, then you run to nearest tall rock.

Heh, I just thought it might be fun to compare the concept art to the IRL Zone pics. That kind of bus seems to be extremely common, though.
Fun fact : that bus is located within a short distance away from the IRL Skadovsk and the Dregde Station in Call of Pripyat.

You can see what appears to be the dredge station in the upper left.
This one I discovered myself with Google maps. The concept art leak I posted in the last thread I found on GSC forums, in the "GSC Game World Close, STALKER 2 Cancelled?"-thread which has ventured further and further off-topic ever since GSC announced that they are still continuing operations. And those guys found the info on stalker-zone.info or something.
We don't know at all how much concept art there is, we may have seen just a tiny fraction of it.
Even the fucking bus is from real life?!
Edited:
Where do you even find all those pictures? Are the Ukrainians having a field day?
it looks like all the concept art of areas is based just on existing photos of the zone, probably ones found online
maybe they can't afford another trip into the zone
Actually I'm pretty sure that Novikov does all the research for them, the majority of the pictures just recently surfaced and are of a diffrent perspective.
the fact that novikov is a real person continues to amaze me
Has anyone made a Stalker video in the style of "When I'm bored"? Am I going to be laughed at for suggesting someone does?
There isn't one?
Burer says "drop it" and yanks your weapon, then goes to a massive slideshow of strobe lights and artifacts.
Trying to uninstall Redux, there's no fucking .exe in the CoP folder, how do.
For a graphic mod for SoC is Autumn Aurora recommended or should I go with Stalker Complete? (or unless there is something better out there I should get).
For something gameplay changing that has better AI and increased damage towards enemies (but obviously with it being the same towards you so it's balanced) The ones I found that seemed good were AMK and L.U.R.K but while it looks like they add in some cool features I don't know if they have those damage changes.
If you want gameplay changes, play the Soup.
If you want nice graphics, play Aurora. Complete also affects gameplay and makes it piss easy.
If you want easy gameplay, get AMK or Cuntplete, both work. AMK still gives the NPC's a chance but Complete is just like "oh lets give you easy repairs and dosh"
I believe AMK and LURK both improve damage and AI. If you're interested in improving textures, check out the various Absolute texture packs on Filefront.
Heh, I thought I remembered Complete being bashed but I wasn't sureWell I saw the Souple but not really interested in trying that out yet.
Thanks, so if both do the same I guess it doesn't matter which one I get? but if AMK is the easier one then it just comes down to if I want a harder or easier game with LURK being the harder one or are they generally the same?
I'd got for AMK:SE, because I think LURK 1.2 is not too far around the corner. I may be wrong, though. Ask Holden.
Lurk also includes graphical overhaul while AMK is much closer to vanilla. LURK has completely new weapon models and so forth while AMK keeps them pretty much the same as always while adding new guns like RPK-74's.
same as any mod, rename/delete the gamedata folder
Yeah that AMK interested me more then the normal version, so if I were to go with LURK then there would be no point installing Autumn Aurora I guess but sounds like I'm going to go with that version of AMK. So thanks for the help.
Though one more thing, I won't have any problems installing both Autumn Aurora and AMK:SE right?
That crashes my game.
I just bought this game, and I have to admit I'm a bit confused. I cleared the camp of zombies by Skadovsk and I realized that the accuracy for most guns are pretty much piss-poor. I eventually killed them all by getting pretty close and letting go with my AKM. Then an emission happened, and even though I was inside a building, I died. Do you guys have any tips or pointers for a new stalker? It's a pretty confusing game to start off with
Verify Integrity of Game Cache?
on startup?
You can upgrade weapons at the Skadovsk to improve their various stats. Accuracy is probably the most important, since it's the only random factor in shooting at things. When you say AKM, do you mean the AK-74 carbine or the full length gun?
When upgrading weapons with Cardan, it's generally worth giving him two bottles of vodka in advance, you get a decent discount on repairs. Unlock access to more repairs by finding toolkits. There are two in Zaton (where you are currently), and in Yanov (the next area), but you won't be able to find toolkits for performing the final tier of upgrades until you reach Pripyat.
If you want a more accurate gun, either save up until you can afford one of Nimble's assualt or sniper rifles (he's at the very top the the interior of the Skadovsk), or complete missions for Beard until you come across the stash location with the LR-300, an M4 variant (or whatever), it's decently accurate.
When an emission hits, the closest proper cover will be marked with a yellow quest marker on the PDA and minimap. Generally semi-ruined buildings don't provide cover, but everyone makes that mistake the first time they play CoP.
Avoid fights with mutants where possible, they are a waste of ammo (unless it's for a quest) since they no longer drop parts.
Is it bad if I know most of the weapon stash locations in Zaton by heart?
Thanks. Can you physically use the repair kits or do you have to sell them? I found one a while back and didn't know what to do with it.
Tools for basic/fine work? Give them to Cardan, he'll pay you for them and you'll unlock Tier one of upgrades for weapons and armour. Cardan is straight up the stairs on the first floor of the Skadovsk.
I hope not.
I believe he just started the game with Misery.
That's what you get for downloading Misery before playing Vanilla. Only certain locations are safe spots in CoP and because Misery removes the safe locations that are pointed out to you, figuring them out is trial and error because Misery doesn't add new safe spots in areas that would realistically give cover from blowouts.
The large shed in the upper area is blowout cover (even though it has cracks in the roof) while the house in the lower area of the sawmill is not.
please don't be playing misery first time through CoP, pleeaaase
Haha, when I first started, my mistake was running all the way to from the waste processing plant to Skadovsk to hide from the emission
All my first aid...
It was the greatest feeling to rise from the ashes of Clear Sky and completely devastate all other factions in your way until your little faction dominated the entirety of the Zone. TFW needs to add Monolith and Military as factions, too. Just imagine, we could do the Doom's Mod Monolith Challenge, and actually slowly take the entirety of the Zone to purge non-believers.
i can only stand awl because of how silly it is
HEYLP MEH STAWKR
What's the story behind this?
It's the only mutant you can't kill. If you look at it for longer than five seconds, the Zone claims you. If you turn away from it for more than five seconds, the Zone claims you. Good luck with the fight then.
Oh. What's it called? Is there a name for it, or a name that you guys have come up for it?
Dat lion.
It looks like Scar from the Lion King drawn as a stereotypical sex offender.
This is an incredibly late post, but no, I didn't start the game with any mods. I haven't downloaded any as of yet. When I say AKM I mean it, I killed two stalkers near skadovsk and took the AKM, because I figured it was a better weapon for distance.
Wild speculations incoming
After spending some time with checking various photos and stuff from the Zone (and keeping in mind all the material we've been able to dig up from the concept art and stalker infos thus far) I think I can offer an "educated guess" on one of the likely locations of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2.
This, fellow stalkers, is the P-14 Radar installation which was spotting targets for the "Rocket Shield" (also known as Volkhov AA-Complex).
An old warehouse
An underground bunker / bomb shelter
Barracks of the outpost
Dining room
Before and after
Thoughts ? I figured it might be plausible due to it's close location to Chernobyl and a lot of major areas (Volkhov Complex, Krug, Duga-3 , Chernobyl, Dredge station and the Skadovsk)
Don't you start with the AKM-74/2U?
Or did you pick up an AKM-74/2?
Anyway, the AKM-74/2U is shit. High recoil, crap range, terrible sights. Use the pistol and go for headshots on the zombies: they don't wear helmets, so there's little point in wasting the more penetrating 5.45.
On one of the zombies you'll probably find a few more AKM-74/2s, and if you're lucky you'll find a AN-94 "Abakan" (AC-96/2 in game.)
It's more accurate and has, IMHO, better ironsights. Higher weapon condition means higher accuracy, and unless you're fighting mutants keep your guns to semi-automatic (9 and 0 cycle fire modes, current mode is displayed to the left of the ammo count). Most human enemies can be dispatched with a single headshot, and you need to conserve ammo.
They're designed for black backgrounds, and look far better on them.
