I still can't get to the military outpost, those fucking turrets ain't leaving me alone.
Oh wait, now I have a legitimate long-range weapon: the crossbow.
It's seriously the shit for medium-long range encounters, a headshot will kill any human enemy including exos and it's completely silent. You start feeling like a ninja with that.
The Jupiter Plant is giving me heart attacks
If the Jupiter Plant gives my heart attacks, will i be able to survive the Pripyat underground tunnels and X8?
CoP's Jupiter Plant is when you combine all of Amnesia with worm food.
The underpass has it's moments but it's mood is broken a ton of times because voice actors.
X8 is a bit more intense than Jupiter but after a few moments you'll realize that going MAN MODE on everything makes it more fun and easier.
So I'm playing Misery.
Out of ammo, zombies everywhere.
I like where this is going.
Find basic and fine tools and get the upgrade for your VSK that changes the calibre to 5.45
Your life gets easier by a ton, trust me.
Remember those army cars with tons of 5.45 ammo in the Zaton bridge? They're still there.
Recon is pretty good given all the bonuses related to sunrise suit, and to the INFINITE SPRIIIIINT.
Also I forgot where the second basic tools kit is.
Pffft, upgrading the carrying weight of sunrise suit and then going with ~20kg stuff in your backpack, you can sprint for ages. Add in the easily gained night star and vo~la, infinite sprint.
Also SKS is awesome
the canned baby crying killed my mood with it's sheer "Boo! Haunted house!"-flavour and I have seen some veterans stalker streamers lose their shit in X8. The streamer had previously basically went through X18 like it was nothing, yet was very jumpy and nervous at X8. I think it can be attributed to the confusing layout of the lab and the fact that you cannot see the Poltergeist that is throwing stuff at you unless you know where it's hiding.
So, Misery. I've heard shit about the FoV, what value should I pick for it? 4:3 aspect ratio, if that changes anything.
But once you fully upgrade a VSK-94, there is just no comparison. It's so overpowered at that point it's not even funny.
did the misery author seriously not modify the military convoy's supplies? jesus christ
Just add some more side passages that go the same way as the main one but which spawn mutants, and it's perfect.
personally, I liked the way in Redux the mercs holed up in the waste processing plant with a single piece of bread between the twelve or so of them
how easy is it to code food to go off after a certain amount of time? that'd make feeding yourself more of a challenge without stripping the Zone entirely of food
fuck you GSC
nor is it a biohazard
seriously, after they got the chemical symbol right in CS I'm surprised they managed to screw it up this time
Right, here we go
Ok, video tags don't work for me now. I give up.
Anyone have a link to that reverse-patcher that was floating around?
Trying to install OGSE, but it requires 1.5, and I've got 1.6 :(
it has to be on redux remember, otherwise it's impossible
Yo, I'm alive. A major event is coming up in a week and hopefully after that I'll be free to resume writing for Redux 2.0!
All right, so I'm thinking of recording my Redux run with Fraps. Sadly, Redux doesn't run as well as Misery to me so I'll just have to deal with the horrid lag spikes I will inevitably encounter.
Should I record the entire run or do those image story-like short clips where I summarize what's been going on and only record major events?
I don't think I have enough space for a complete run on my hard drive, I mean ;c
Thorny you better fucking make me an expert stalker
Oh and are grenades/knife allowed?
I never got to abuse infinite sprint because my bag was always full of shit that nobody would buy.
