It's not that bad, although mutant toughness makes the game a fair deal less fun at the start. Buy a TOZ-34 and some shot rounds at the start, and do some of the "Kill enemies at X location quest". Maybe do some faction quests (deliver box/deliver items/retrieve PDAs). The rewards are decent, you don't need to kill things, and it puts you further towards joining a faction.

My game is constantly crashing when I try and talk to Krugov now. I'll talk to him, he'll give me his flash drive and tell me to stop by the lab for a scientist suit, but the objective to talk to him will remain, and if I try and talk to him again the game crashes.

Damn, I wanted challenge, and OGSE finally gave me the challenge I had hoped for.

The A-Life is also great in OGSE, I came from Garbage to the bar and there were 3 cats there, obviously, I tried to kill them, but I ran out of pistol ammo and I had no other ammo left, and when I was closing in on the duty outpost, there were 2 pseudo-dogs, and 1 Chimera, I had to jump inside this one truck and wait there until the Chimera kill the 2 pseudodogs, then I made my run for the bar. T'was crazy.

Takes a lot of trial and error to get past the turrets, or very careful long-range recon. And grenades; their one and only weakness. Grenade launchers are a must, hand grenades a last resort.

I finished Southern Comfort, took longer to finish then expected because school and stuff. It's really good, I recommend it for an unorthodox STALKER experience.

Ah, so they are weak to bullets? I thought they had the same resistances to bullets as APCs. In that case, a nice SVD or other sniping weapon should dispatch them as well.

I once left the game on overnight (speakers at minimum, all the nighttime sounds made sleeping fun) and they still hadn't arrived. Turned out there was a renegade squad with two RPG dudes and the rest outfitted with exos blocking the way. This was in Spartan 11:11 though.
