I hate it when awesome things get screwed up because greedy fucking corporations won't give up the rights. I mean, they have contributed nothing creatively to the title, yet they own part of the creative side of it. It's fucking stupid.

Why the hell is it a F2P MMO? I mean, STALKER in a more global setting seems like a good idea, even if it's not called STALKER, and even just a straight MMOFPS might work, but F2P just makes me think this is going to be horrible.

But this is what I don't get. Why don't they just make STALKER 2 in everything but name? Even if Sergei is a douche and won't give up the rights they can still make essentially the same game with a different name and a slightly altered universe. It's not that difficult. Why did they have to do all this F2P bullshit?

Well, their game "Survarium" (working title) seems to be basically STALKER in everything but name except that it spans most of the world or something.

Probably because it's too hard to attract funding for their game if it was a single-player title, which is sad. Hell, they had trouble trying to find funding for S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 even though it was an established series that sold moderately well (and extremely well for a single-player only PC FPS)

Yeah the more I think about it the more it seems like it all might turn out ok.

They seemed to be saying at one point that F2P is the modern equivalent to demos. I hate how people seem to have forgotten that demos exist. If you want people to be able to try your game for free before buying then make a freaking demo. It's that simple.
