Seems a bunch of car threads got locked, presumably automatically. Here's our new hang-out, I guess so we can talk about cup-holders, turbos and being mega doriftu.
Ferosso killed it with his Evoque

Why the fuck are topics getting masslocked?
Dunno. I made a new one because I couldn't find any evidence of them being locked by a moderator or anything. Congratulations, you killed V3!
Garry closes threads with more than 1000 posts in the start of every month now
Great another thread :)
Somehow I just managed to finish a long post right before the post your car thread got locked, I thought I broke it for a sec there.
Just rode around in my friends 87 Corvette. That thing sat in a barn for 10+ years which is why he got it for 3000 but no matter how beat up it is, it's looks like so much fun. Digital dash is fucked, ripped seats, paint nicks, plastic is all warped but man I want one now.
Edited:
And goddamn they're cheap

First page of V4
Thermalarc was here hurr duurrrrr
All my friends want to buy my Vic after i get my new vehicle. Their crazy.
Forgot he was doing this, I thought the Read button was broken.
JDM Tyte
I remember that video, was a d-series in purto rico IIRC
I don't know much about old hondas, but i really want this

assuming it's a 5 speed.
I saw one of these for sale locally:

So want...
Hey! I remember that ad.
Also might be getting sum muscle instead of dorifuto datsun 510.
That reminded me of this

If I had the money... or the drive-way space... I would not hesitate to buy that. Damn.
$5000 Budget, something with a V8. Used or new. Go. c;
Im thinking Fox-body, or another SN95.
87-92 Trans Am/Camaro (Trans Am is better)
You can find the occasional 75 and back cars that are cheap. They'll be beat up but they'll probably run.
How is the trans am better, I heard they had their engines tuned to less power?
You can pick up a ~98 Camaro SS for 5 Grand if you are lucky.
The cruise control in my '01 Focus doesn't work, where should I begin to fix it? I've read about checking fuses, and the cable that goes to the throttle body, is there anything else I should check while I'm at it?
Earlier today I saw a 69' GTO in Lime green with a thin white line running along the side. Was nice looking.
Also saw an elderly couple driving a brand new GTI. Thought that was neat.
Because it's a fucking Trans Am. I'm biased.
Would you guys recommend a late 90s GTI with high mileage (250-270 thousand KMs) or an early 240SX (92-93) with 210 thousand on it? GTIs appear to be in good condition (Haven't seen in person yet). 240SX appears to be really good condition with paint still good and the leather is nearly immaculate. No cracked dashboards and used to be owned by my friend's mom.
All of them are $2500 (240SX is negotiable). Bradley said he wouldn't take a KA24DE with 210xxx kilometres on it. Are they unreliable?
210,000 miles*
I did not say kilos. Didn't know it was in kilos.
Oh, sorry if I didn't say kilos. Yeah, I'm canadian so it's all kilos. Yeah, it's only got 210,000 kilometres on it. Would it be worth getting if it's well taken care of with 210xxx KMs for only $2500 or even a bit lower?
Edit:
Now this is even more attempting. Someone just posted a 1995 Prelude with a h22a in it with only 100,000kms.
http://www.usedvictoria.com/classifi...elude_16642846
I'm gonna try for that, it's a lot nicer. I guess I'm really indecisive today but that Prelude just popped up. Heh.
I tried to get an insurance quote for my car where I'll be living next year and Tesco would like £11000.
Other comparison sites wanted £2500. This is so daft
Edited:
I phoned them up and to put me as the named driver at my home address it's £2257 and for my address when I move it'll be £5237.
I hate insurers
210k km isn't bad. I'd go for it.
Also
That's the butt fucking ugly prelude :|
And FWD will get boring, trust me.
Video of my Corsa in action!
... Actually i was wondering if you guys knew what these noises were, and if urgent attention is needed? (I'm going to see my uncle, who's a mechanic and has his own garage, in 2 weeks).
First noise you'll hear is at the start of the video and comes from the front of the car whenever i turn full lock. CV joints maybe?
Second noise which has only just appeared recently is the loud banging noise whenever i put my foot down hard on the gas or the brake. You'll hear it twice by me accelerating hard then in the second clip you hear it again when i brake hard from a slow speed. Sudden change of speed seems to bring it on as pulling away slowly doesn't produce the sound. I'm not sure where the sound is coming from.
Just need to know, the wheel isn't gonna come flying off or something within the next 2 weeks is it?
Di do di do di do di do .. haha
Go to a garage, usualy Opel retailers check that for free
Well i work for Opel and we do that kinda checks for free
I can't stand the noise of my indicators haha.
You sure? It's about 10 years old now so well out of warranty. There's a Vauxhall dealership not too far from here, should try getting in touch with them so they can have a look?
Well let me explain how they check the cars here at opel.
You usualy go there and explain your problem and then the Master Craftsman goes for a drive, then 95% of the time he can tell what is the problem and then he can also tell you how much i'd cost if you wanna repair your car there ...
Im just hoping that they work the same there since i have visited many other Opel retailers here and they all work the same .. (same goes for Fiat here)
Edit:
What i would say about the noises: Engine mounts maybe. why ? because you push the gas and some parts of the engine hit somewhere and when you turn or brake they also ht somewhere
That sounds ideal. I'll check the place out and ask around. I'm sure my uncle can help otherwise.
I'm looking to add some vinyl racing stripes in the same layout as this Mustang for my car. (I know my car will look ridiculous with said stripes, but that's part of the fun)
I was wondering, has anyone else out there applied any vinyl's to their car? If so, is it difficult to apply the vinyl's? Can it go wrong easily?
Just after a heads up, any tips and an explanation on applying vinyl's to a car.
You mean go faster stripes? Here's a guide on applying vinyls.
http://www.autosportz.com/article_ho...s_graphics.htm
Basically, just take your time. It doesn't sound difficult but I'm sure you could easily fck it up.
Thank you very much for that!
Didn't know the soap trick worked for full sized car vinyls.
Used it on Airfix models since ever.
Yeah? I was looking at RWD cars and had trouble finding one. How expensive are SR20DETs usually?
I don't know. Lemon would be better to ask on that. Couple grand I'm guessing?
RWD jap shit can be had for your price range. You just have to keep an eye out for that deal, you know?
Well, this 240SX don't seem like a bad deal to me. Gonna see if I can nab it for maybe $2200. A 240SX with relatively low KMs in manual cost a minimum of $3000+ here. Exceptional condition ones go for atleast $4000.
The guy wanted $3500 for the car 6 months ago when I bought my truck. Now he wants $2500. Ironically, the only reason it hasn't sold is because he hasn't posted it on any websites. Dunno why, my friend is his step-bro and my friend told me to buy it.
It'd be an alright deal. Already manual and everything so it's a stock little dorifutobox, I'd say go for it.
