Take the Mustang mudding anyways. Put a giant lifted truck suspension and huge offroad wheels on it or something.
    Yes.

looking at putting a turbo on my 2rz tacoma. Ive heard i should get a better head gasket, struts, and reinforced pistons as well as the turbo. The kit im looking at is 2500 but im wondering what installation would cost and the extra parts.
,,2rz. Get a egt and wideband a/f meter. Urd Maf calibrator and keep I under 8 psi u will be fine. At about 12-15 psi the head gasket goes. get a mil gasket from luis( paradise racing ) and arp heads studs and your good to about 20psi with fuel mods.

But with gauges and 8 psi u will be fine with about 220-250 hp and realible motor.
Customtacos has a lot of threads about turbo tacos

    But
    Urdusa
    Paradise racing
    And lc engineering
Those are the sites to get stuff.

Parked on curb, some lady didn't think he should be parking in the parking lot. She went and bitched to someone inside the store, and when the guy came out and asked him to move, he did. She came back out and he rev'd his engine as she walked by, so she went back in the store and bitched again. Or something.

    240 update:
I did all the paperwork today, $121 in fees and tax damn. Gotta pay smog test fees of about $60 which the 240 passed with flying colors. But the car is in working condition, just the basics for normal and safe operation for now, thanks to the craftsmanship of my mechanic. Maybe later I can order some cheapo dish wheel and new shifter knob. Get bank then start adding performance mods like coilovers and the like

Just take engine out of,swap for 2.7T twin Turbo, install rollcage, and go drive it reckless.
Upside to that would be spair engine for my DD and Spare interior parts ( alwase need cupholders).

Suspension performance is just as important as horsepower and torque. Output isn't all performance is.

You can't drift and corner amazingly without proper coils and it is as important and basic as upgrading engine components.
The driver that finds the best line is almost somewhat comparable to having the equivalent engine output.

I didnt look at it thorougly because it was dark, I was rather mad/sad ans was trying to get a tower platform here.

One of the collar I used to clamp my ic piping in place was stripped and popped on the highway, this being a maf car, the ecu went into limp mode (aka 100%duty cycle on the injectors and retard the timing the most it can) but I coudnt pull over because I was in a construction zone and there was no where to stop, I limped it half a Kilometer but I fixed it and didn't boosted until the track (by the time I found a collar for it).

but my bet is: fuel got in the oil, fuel as you know is a terrible lubricant. That+ a long stroke engine with incredible pistons speed= receipe for rodknock and block breaker

Edit: my old folks gave me a subwoofer with a amp for it for my birthday (1st of may) but I guess now they'll be useless for a while... Until I can sort this situation

I will probably end up going 2jz... but that ain't cheap (even if the jayz is bone stock)

Well, good luck. I'm about to FINALLY finish my boost project on the Civic, putting the cylinder head on tomorrow, putting new CV shaft in today, Sunday I'm pulling the motor for new flywheel/clutch/PP, and pulling front end apart for charge piping.

I hope you go 2JZ. It won't be cheap but it'll be awesome. I know it.

My ultimate plan is to eventually go 4G63T with my Civic, but I need to find me a FWD 4G63 Eclipse for everything I need (Motor, transaxle, shifter and linkage). I can't seem to find one cheap. I wouldn't even need a clean one, a totalled one would be fine.

    Someday. Hopefully.

Tukimoshi, that's a nice RX7 but think of the costs. High mileage car, repairs and maintenance; lotsa damage like door lock and side panel. My 240 is pretty cheap in parts but it still cost me a grand and more to fix, what more a rotary?

If you can go through with money I'd say that's a good deal to trade a lude for a braap

Yeah, that's been on my mind. As long as the body is in good condition, it should be pretty good as the engine looks healthy, and I can replace the lock. Fuel Economy would be pretty bad in that thing though.

I guess I'm really stuck between whether this RX7 is worth it, or whether I should just hold out until I can get a 240

If you don't have to spend any money on the trade and it's as simple as giving your Prelude, I'd say go for it.

Make sure you do your research first and see if he isn't trying to give away his lemon. The engine doesnt look like it's been abused, but its hard to tell from just looks

I should buy your 7M for my Corvette

    But no really, good luck.

I've never had bad luck with Honda stuff, I always have spares though. I have a D16Z6 block kicking around if I punch a hole in this D16A6 one.

    Edited:

Also tried to flip turbo around and keep full size rad:

It ended up hitting the entire side of the cold side

I trimmed and trimmed the Z6 block for a mockup but it just wouldn't go.

So I shelled out some money and bought an aluminum half rad and some other bits as well. I may as well go a little big if I'm going through this trouble

Might have found myself a 2jzgte from those nasty jdm fuckers (they're all stealing scum around here) for 1200$
add 350 for the correct bellhousing
    150 for the correct flywheel
add 150 for the correct motor mount
200 for a IC. and then I got to find piping for the intercooler and make a decend downpipe...

well, calling my old job tomorrow and gonna ask if they still have room for me NOW (even if it was booring as fuck)... I need dah money

Also, why not go 1JZ? I'd think 1JZ engines are a little cheaper to come by and they're not terrible at all. And they pretty much require all the 2JZ stuff you'd buy anyways, I think if you could save on the engine a little I would. Hell, 1JZ's aren't even that much lesser of an engine, they only flow slightly less (Stock 2JZ head flows ~238in/154ex at .400, 1JZ head flows ~215in/133ex with identical lift) and despite it being .5 liters less in displacement they still put out tons of ponies and hold boost well (Hell, they're a Toyota JZ block).

In most cases, 1JZ costs half of what a 2JZ costs. *shrug* That's the way I'd go if I could find a cheap 1JZ.

1jz are more expensive than 2jz around here. Most 1jz are vvti (vvti version of JayZee engine are weaker) because the non-vvti are still in jza70 driving around the world. Also the head flow more on the 2j (like you said), the cam are more aggressive, the .5L make a difference, lots of aftermarkets replacement for the 2jz (a shit ton more manifold and shit, trust me on that). more importantly, If I keep it stock for this year (budget yo), the ct20 are way bigger than the ct12.

a BPU+ on a 1jzgte with stock twins will net you 300rwhp (been documented and saw it on a bunch of car around here), while a bpu+ on stock twins on a 2jz will net you 390rwhp.

I'm willing to pay 300$ less for the engine to have 90rwhp more in the end ;)

I have been around mk3 supras for a while, I know what Jz swap involve, dont worry
