I don't think, that they will say something about Half-Life 3 or Episode 3 or whatever.
The will eventually talk about "Steam Box", Dota2, CS:GO and gaming generally.

HL3 will NOT be announced there, E3 is where the games are at the GDC they'll most likely be showing off Steam for big tv's and/or the steambox.

I had a dream last night that Gabe came to my house to personally deliver the first copy of HL3. Kelly Bailey was there too, dressed as Gordon, playing some awesome tunes.
I woke up and was sad.

Also, I wouldn't be too hyped up for E3 because there's a 47% Chance we'll be disappointed because valve may have another game they want to release or they're holding off.
And beside the execution with the announcement has to be done with care, too much hype leads to heaps of crazy assumptions and expectations resulting in just about everyone being upset.

But importantly number 2 is that when you subtract 100-47 you get 53. There's a small probability (47) that Valve won't mention hl3 but there's a high probability (53) that Ep3 will be mentioned
I mean think of it valve is noticing how much the community is boiling over, we are wanting news, screenshots, trailers ANYTHING to feast on. We've been eating on lies, concept art, hidden details and false args from Spuf, facepunch and reddit. Everyone is going hungry and valve knows it so there may be an announcement this year.
Valve did reveal that they feel awful for keeping their fans deprived on episode 3 information but they're only doing it not to hype up us so much. E3 has a high chance yes but do remember valve could be doing other things.
The numbers are random, but it makes sense when explained.

I feel bad for VALVe, especially the normal people who are working on it, imagine the stress and pressure knowing that you are working on the most awaited and acclaimed game's sequel, and can't say shit without getting fired or worse.

I think their lack of publicity has given them more intense focus in the long run. Sure, non-existing fans have no fucking clue what is going on or that Half-Life even exists, but those who do are so fucking drawn in by what they might do next that it's insane. I think it was a good marketing technique for Valve to pull off. The moment we hear anything, half the Earth will just go APESHIT for it.

The few of us VALVe fans will go apeshit, but the people who have forgotten, or just don't know will be thinking "Why the fuck is that guy running down the street ?" when your running home to post on your favorite forums about HL3. Or when your yelling at your friend "OMG DUDE THEY ANNOUNCED HALF LIFE 3 OMFG I CAN'T WAIT TILL IT COMES OUT!!!!" and he just asks "Whats half life 3 ??"
It may create hype at first for US few people, but the rest will just be left saying; "What the fuck ?"

I realize that this is old news, but most people haven't seen it, and quite frankly, I think the bit with G-Man at the end is extremely interesting. Perhaps he'll play a much bigger part in Half Like Three?
