If ever one of us gets cancer or some sort of disease that is going to inevitably kill us.
Use your "Make A Wish" for "Reveal Half Life 3 fully" or something like that.
I know I would.

I feel the need to say that those shadows have artifacts because of low resolution.
( Take a look at left bottom corner. And a wall on the right. )
I mean, feels like a stock flashlight from Ep2, if you know what I mean.
( For those who don't want to go back: that screenshot is here. )
Let's get 300 new posts very rapidly so when someone wakes up and visits Valve Games and Mods will have a heart attack. I'm joking of course: We could never do that without any true motivation and we would probably get banned.

Eating asbestos as we speak. Great idea.
Actually, that would be rather funny. We all just pretend a trailer just came out![]()
Fuck that, endless supply of doritos till I die.
Let's do this.

I thought it wasn't actually the leak that got the game delayed, Valve just wanted to change most of it. They did the same with Half-life, Team Fortress 2, HL2: Episode 2 and Portal 2.
I thought the game got delayed because they were way behind and the leak came at such a time that they were able to come clean?
Straying a bit from the regular topic here, but does anyone know of any good lore HL2 singleplayer mods?
I've already played:
Combine Destiny (6/10)
Riot Act (6/10)
Rock 24 (9/10)
Research and Development (10/10)
Precursor (9/10)
Have you tried the Stanley Parable?

I just want everyone to know I disprove of this thread and those who've participated in it.
Minerva: Metastasis
I do not agree with you or your opinion but I respect your right to have one.
It wasn't. I didn't read the article but I can tell you that in the leak there were lots of current HL2 maps in early stages proving that Valve started to rebuild Half life 2 long before the incident.
Aside from some changes and rearrangements, many of the maps are largely the same, and so are the weapons, and enemies.
Basically what was leaked was an unfinished version of the final storyline, everything before that (like AirEx) was already cut.
Meet me up in Maryland. I'll supply the crowbars
Not what I asked for, but the reviews look good, so I'll probably give it a whirl.
I'll check this out out too.
Late as fuck but try Dangerous World.

pretty sure the source version update broke combinedestiny, rock24 and human error. Eye of the storm suffers a bit from it too.
Uh.
Okay.
In follow-up to the HL2 beta post that I made several pages ago, it would seem that something else has come up.
Obviously, this isn't canon, but it's still pretty neat.
That was just made for Missing Info

Human Error is one of my favorites.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-2-short-stories
Great gameplay additions, new enemies, vehicles, and memorable characters - all while giving a new interesting perspective through the gas-mask of a CP.
I honestly didn't like Human Error. It didn't break canon, sure, but at the same time it didn't feel Half-Lifey. At all.
I just started playing this and I it's great. The interior design is really well done, plus I like not having the gravity gun as an option. Makes it feel a bit like the original Half-Life.
Why do ANYONE separate the Source 2007 branch to L4D Source branch.
L4D Source is an engine branch, not a new engine.
On top of that, it's out dated.
CSGO is Source and much prettier than L4D2.
This seems to be mostly due to the really sexy new dynamic shadows and self-shadowing. The only way I can really think of to make Source better now (mostly for modding purposes) is to update the godawful and restrictive .bsp format used for maps (And by that, I probably mean just use a different map format altogether), because they're going to need to do so eventually.
It's from E3 demonstration.
The original half life 2 world/atmosphere reminds me of 1984 in a way.

How about this?

The beta had a lot of good concepts, although later didnt fit very well in game.
I dont know what to talk here, so i´ll ask something easy: there are new "easter eggs" about Half-Life in CS:GO/DOTA2?
Not in Dota, but CS:GO there were textures with references about HL3's development.
You mean blackboards, Raising The Bar book and 'Blue Mesa'?
Whiteboards :P

Would be nice if Valve made the model format so it's like the Half Life 2 Beta, but is at model format 21.
.mdl (defines the model)
.vvd (important, vertex data)
.phy (optional, physics model)
.dx7_2bone.vtx (defines the bones)
.cloth (optional, cloth physics)
.anims (animations, makes it easier to define animations rather than .mdls.)
.dx80.vtx (orange box stuff)
.dx90.vtx (orange box stuff)
But, the current file format is easier right now.
