So I bought this somewhere around last August, and although it's been great so far, I was thinking about dropping a bit of money on either a new bass or an amp, although I'm not really sure where to start.

I was thinking about buying a fretless, as I played one of these in a music store and loved it, but the one I linked is well out of my price range.

Could you guys recommend some other things that I should look at?

I got my Partscaster all back and repainted, holy god its as perfect (except for the grounding problem) as I remember it. The front is an orange that fades to black, and all black around the sides and back.

my next build is gonna be similar, it'll be a rear-rout strat with 3 coil-tapped GFS Loudmouths and a single volume knob

bright orange body, maybe sparkle orange, with black hardware. I'll see if I can't find a new Charvel neck, otherwise I'm probably gonna throw an old Kramer neck with the banana headstock on there

still undecided whether it's getting a Kahler or a hardtail of some sort

those fuzzy pics don't do it justice.

    :(

I did maple because the black fret markers + black hardware complimented it, unless you wanted to go with a slab of ebony with no markers, it just wouldn't look right to me with rosewood and white markers.

I was thinking bleached maple with black markers but now that I think about it I might have to do a guitar in all bleached maple (or a bleached maple top on a less heavy wood like possibly ash) with black hardware and inlays

now that would be sexy as fuck

    Edited:

bleached birdseye all of my hnng

Lukather is a shockingly underrated player. His tone and vibrato is absolutely amazing, especially live
Lukather was so lyrical and flowing. His playing just sings. Absolutely phenomenal player. The whole night was fantastic. Vai completely blew me away, stole the whole show in my opinion. And Satch was... Satch. What else is there to say about the man?
Mind blowing concert. Particularly loved the 10 minute rendition of Little Wing they jammed at the end.

The only thing that really irritates me about Vai is that from what I've seen of the G3 jams he's always trying to upstage everyone. Other than that he can put on a great show.

    Ok, wow!

First impressions on this guitar are amazing.

The setup right out of the box is amazing. Action is so low I can only fit a dime under the 12th fret, no high frets. And the neck almost has no relief, the frets need a polish and that is it. The pickups are decent but will be changed, but overall I am very satisfied with this guitar. The finish is flawless and the electronics work for now, it even has Grover tuners.

I want to try some D'Addario bass strings. I'm thinking these http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and...Bass-40-95/6F9

I need a light gauge because of the neck being all weird on my Kramer (that's what I get for buying a B-stock item)

my friend had all his gold hardware changed out for chrome and pit in Livewires. I'd get some Bareknuckle or DiMarzios, rather than Livewires.

Made this thing today with my glorious line 6 spider III and with my harley benton 80w cheap bass amp!

I would like to know if you like the overrall sound! It's recorded with my PRS MM Baritone equipped with Bareknuckle Painkiller pickups and my Yamaha RBX 5 string bass, slappin' that thing is godly amounts of fun. Hope I don't annoy anyone in this thread by posting this stuff here, it's just that my audience for such stuff is incredible small and pretty much nobody.

I've finally chosen a tube amp, will be getting the blackstar HT40 around june, should suit my needs better than a 100watts.

Also took the time to disassemble my wylde overdrive, found a hidden switch inside, when flipped turns it into MXR classic overdrive, gives it completely another tone
