Just so you know, the lower the class the slower the read and write speed the card is, but the higher the random read and write speeds. You would want this for loading small bits if data all of the time.
The higher the class, the faster the read and write speed but lower the random read and write. You would want this if you download tonal of stuff or you copy tons of movies, videos and other content into the card often. Or if you swap or add more music consistently and you don't want to wait forever for it to copy over.
Generally I would recommend the higher class cards but those are usually more expensive.

Finally bricked my iPhone and now I actually have real a reason to get a new phone. So to my annoying question that has probably been asked too many times: What should I get?
I've been recommended to get the ZTE Blade 2 but I know fuck all about Android devices. I'm also on a slim-ish budget..

So i have the opportunity to take my brothers old Droid 2 and replace my shitty dumbphone, or spend money on a smartphone with verizon new every 2 upgrade, I've never had a smartphone before, and I haven't committed to upgrading yet because for me 30 bucks extra a month is scary.
My question is basically would it be worth it at all to take his Droid 2 for no money or would it just be pretty shitty and old for today's standards?

So I finally got myself a screen protector, it was 5 bucks and it's most likely from some Chinese company supplier of some sort, anyways it doesn’t cover the sensors or front facing camera, Damn. Oh well.
I also found some inexpensive 32GB microSD cards, as low as 40 bucks bit it was out of stock and too low class, 55 for a class 10. Is patriot any good?

How do I get 720/1080p playback without stuttering or freezing?
When I first got my sgs2 it played tron 1080p fine. But when trying to play a 720p episode of southpark it just lags tits. Same thing with my tablet--Galaxy 10.1.
I've tried different players and streaming from my computer but no luck.
Any suggestions?

I can watch 720p anime on my mini pro with no lag, I'm using MX Video Player with the codec pack app add-on.
And my screen is 480x360 :-(

I've seen newegg, amazon, and if you have one locally fry's have mad deals on 32gb class 4 and 10 cards. The best deal I saw so far was 40 for a samsung class 10 32gb.
And yes, I run patriot in my phone and it hasn't caused any problems. If you do some watching at those places I'll guarantee you find a good deal. Right after I got mine a week later a class 10 version of it went on sale for lower.

Those places I checked were all Chinese Phone Shops, and I went through 30+ stores, only to find a few to even have a 32gb microSD card. And since those are Chinese shops, i can bargain down 5-10 bucks or more, after explaining by journey to even find the card I want.

It is once you deal with the fact that the stock launcher will drop 100 or so icons onto your homepages after you do a restore in titanium backup.
I wanted to like it, but it was far too much annoyance to deal with. I don't want to micromanage an app drawer. I really liked all the extra features I could tweak under the hood, but honestly it isn't important compared to general usability.

I'd go for the One XL or the One S. Tegra 3 is having mad overheating issues on the One X, people are reporting that if you game for 10 minutes the temps rise to 40-50C. Not a good sign. If you have to buy one, I'd try to keep it running as cool as possible, keep screen brightness down and never do anything particularly taxing when the phone is charging.

What color? Make sure you check where it comes from, be very careful if it's made in China because apparently those made in China are more likely to have defects than those made in Taiwan.

Vastly slower GPU, CPU also trails behind somewhat. Screen is bigger without change in resolution, the battery life is worse as a result of it's 1st gen LTE implementation.

For microSD cards unless you need more than 4 megabytes/sec write speeds, go with SanDisk's class 4. If you want all out performance, find genuine 32 GB class 10 Samsung microSDs. You absolutely have to do a full test of their capacity and test both write and read speeds to ensure you aren't getting ripped off.

I can certify that SanDisk genuine class 4 microSDs should hit around 18 MB/sec read speeds.

I like the copying of content onto the microSD card to be fast so I don't have to wait for it to finish. I'll probably do content dumps and copy over several gigabytes of content. I'm getting 2 MB/s on my 8GB class 2 card I got from my mom's nokia. And this is much of an investment that old las5 me years, beyond my current mini pro and beyond my second phone if possible.

Fucking Instagram is still broken on my phone. Trying to process the picture causes a complete lockup. I emailed them about it because it seems like there's no one else in the world who is having this problem and they keep telling me to refer to this 'known bug' from their help center and that they're working on a fix, even though my issue is completely different.
There are even people posting 5 star reviews who use the same phone as me saying it works great, what the fuck is going on?

Yes. Granted that's probably where my problem lies. Might reflash later since it uses an Aroma installer. Went back to tweak some stuff after install not realising how Aroma worked and may have borked some stuff.

That's a big possibility. Or the ROM itself might be the problem, not your tweak. Check the forum/website (if the ROM has one) for any issues related to Instagram.
But in case you haven't, try deleting Instagram cache. That sometimes does wonders for apps.

It amazes me just how much control carriers have over their customers in the US.
I was honestly amazed to learn that some didn't even use SIM cards. When I got my new phone, I got an unlocked one off of Amazon and pulled the SIM from my old phone into the new one.
Also I love how you Americans have these funny carrier exclusive editions of phones - like the carriers realise that they're shit and that only exclusivity could get them any customers.

It does get annoying though - the G2X P999 is almost identical to the 2X P990 but because it isn't there's this split in the modding community that there really shouldn't be.
