Mabye she's formulating a plan?
Just a quick dialogue box test, and a pic of me testing out the riot gear models.

The first one is a little too dark but I like the second one, that uav was a nice touch.
A thingy from Gears of War. It's in the locust pack on garrysmod.org
Thanks, that's a good idea, I don't know why I didn't bother to move the camera over a bit. What sucks is that there's more stuff on top of the cargo containers, and a whole scene not even visible beyond that. Ah well...
Make more screenshots with it then haha.
Whoop
Nick Heads
Nick Heads Everywhere
Everyone is obsessed with Nick.
Some people have a fetish for Lightning, some people have a fetish for Nick ;) wink wink wiink XD :P lol < rofl 3
I think you could have picked a better camera angle for that, it's a bit awkward. And so are bottom-guy-whose-name-I-should-remember's arms, actually.
I tried to duplicate that. Kei's legs wont really co-operate....
His names Thane.
That does look more natural, I think Kai's torso needs to be lower and his thighs further forward, but I understand when models won't do what you want. Sucks.
Also, the camera is a longer distance away and zoomed in further as well, try that next time, it always looks better.
Edited:
Ah, yes, now I remember. I need to play ME2 again apparently.
nicks face model is damn sexy though
I wanted to add more to the scenery but didnt know what to add that wouldnt make it look worse.

Nick is my waifu
As I said, you need to back up, and zoom in with the camera tool.
I did with the second.
It's not very noticeable, do it more than that.
This is my first attempt at posing in a very, very long time and I wasn't any good to start off with. So any and all CC is very much welcomed.

Very impressive. I particularly like Mr. Leaning's... well... leaning. It's very natural.
Honestly, my biggest complaint with the posing are the free hands. They need to be doing something, posed in some manner. I'm not really sure what you could do with them, though, and that's an issue I always have with free hands. That's why I try to avoid showing free hands with ~artistic camera shots~.
In other news, I have been spending the past three or so days just practicing on some special-effects editing, in anticipation of a comic I am working on that will be, in parts, very special-effects-heavy.
I'll be honest when I say that most of that time went into a flamethrower effect, which has gone through 12 different iterations and criticism-sessions with various random people in my Friends list. I had to basically figure out how to do it entirely from scratch, because I couldn't find any tutorials on it worth a damn, which means there was a lot of experimentation, and there still is experimentation. It also means the process is kind of unstable right now, so every time I do it, it comes out a little differently.
However, I am pretty happy with this iteration. What do you guys think?
I have also been working on blood-spatter-on-surfaces, and I am... okay... with this iteration. It needs something to give it more dimensionality, though, and I'm not sure what to do about that. There's a trick I use in shots like this that involves blending modes and high contrast, which darkens lows and highlights highs - adding a good dimensional depth to the affected areas - but this particular image has very monotone lighting, and it ended up just giving the blood a burned look, so I scrapped it.
If anyone has any suggestions for either the flamethrower or the blood - any suggestions or criticisms at all - feel free to share. I'm always open to trying new things, since, as I said, I basically just figured all this out on my own.
Also note that I have nil experience in special effects editing - the extent of my photo-editing experience is adding borders to images and speech bubbles.![]()
Sorry, neither are very good. It's awesome that you're determined to get it right and have put in all of the work, but you still have a ways to go. Just look at reference images of real blood splatters and real flamethrowers, they're not all too similar. Still, kudos to you for the effort.
EDIT:
If blood is on a wall feel free to use in-game blood as long as you have a good replacement texture for it. Any flat surface is a perfectly fine place to use ingame blood paint, and even if it isn't great it's much easier to edit from there. For the flames, I wouldn't try to make them from scratch, instead see if you can find some photo resources like photoshop brushes or .PNG images that you can work off of to keep it more realistic.
Yeah, I know the flamethrower isn't very realistic. I decided to go with a more cinematic / Hollywood / exciting feel for the flamethrower, because the "realistic" flamethrower images I used as reference have a lot of detail work in them that, frankly, I just can't pull off. I would like to blame Paint Shop Pro 8, but I know it could do it - it's just the monkey operating it doesn't know what he's doing well enough.
I'm honestly fairly opposed to using brushes and stock images for effects, not to the point where I won't use them if there's no better alternative, but more I find more value in trying to make the effects myself and learning from it than just shamelessly plugging them in.
Thanks for the honest words, love. You got any links or suggestions to decent blood replacement packs?![]()
Well to be honest, most professionals use pre-made resources all of the time, especially images and textures. There's no shame in it, and even though I do prefer painting my own blood, I still will use other resources, for example muzzle flashes and smoke I cannot make well enough, so I'll use stock images and brush packs. I like to think it's more about what you do with it than where it came from as long as you aren't blatantly lying or cheating.
Anyways, blood. I just pulled up a few quick. If anyone knows I think there was a better one on Facepunch but I've no idea where to find it.

A bunch of screenshots I've taken for my assortment of skins I have made. I wouldn't call them personal, so I believe this is the right thread. Maybe they are in some way worth their own thread, but fuck it.
All images are 100% in game.

Hey Rocketgunner, thats a really aesome HECU picture! Looks great! Where'd you get the glow stick though?
Those aren't HECU. They're MW2 Operators.
I like third one, and sixth. But I miss dynamic scenes on your pics.
Telnyashkas?
CC please.
Didn't notice this but one of the ropes is clipping through the scientist. Oops, lol.
LOVE the Middle East scene! Keep it up!
So close with this one, but soldier on the right is awkwardly posed. The guys in the truck are actually very good, guy in the back looks weird as well.
