Ah, like that.
No, that's not good enough.
Find a webcam or camcorder or whatever, place it in somewhere high and close to wherever you're drawing and aim it at your sheet. Start recording.

-snip what the hell am I thinking-
It was less to see the progress and more because I would just love to see it done.
Extremely early WIP. Just wondering if there are any perspective issues as it's the main reason for my study. It's pretty extreme so kind of mind fucking me.
I know the face is a WIP, but I thought it looked a bit silly.
I bought an art desk and markers. I spent more on the markers than the desk. Copics are amazing, look forward to some marker pieces from me in the relatively near future (a month or two).
with those perspective lines I think his left shoulder should be a little lower. Using the guides is a good way to see the errors and will help you develop more accurate paintings in the future though.
when doing perspective lines ya gotta figure out where the horizontal line is. Because now without it, nothing makes sense.
Isn't it the line that the arrow is pointing at?
also youre now only following one vanishing point while it should be two
Edited:
I don't think so
shouldn't 2 or more vanishing points lead to the same horizontal? Although you are right, the box he put around the figure indicates the second vanishing point is another point far infront of the figure.
nope
Edited:
The perspective is very much all wrong
Edited:
it doesn't make any sense.
Edited:
I would redline it, but im at school.
Yeah I see what you are saying though, the horizontal is not clear and because of that neither are the 2 vanishing points.
According to the picture, the horizontal should be around the hips no? If you can see the bottom of the hands then it should at least be below that.
Used images from the book 'Drawing the Human Body' by Giovanni Civardi as reference.
Quick landscape.

Studies were a focus on form rather than value so don't get grumpy at me because I didn't push the darks
Once you get the hang of drawing from references (whether it's life or photos or other drawings) you can draw pretty much anything
Edited:
I'm doing the figure studies from the drawing book so that I can draw better figures when I have no models or references around. I have no issue with using references but I'd like to be able to do some basic anatomy on the run
I don't think it's much use to do a perspective study of a heavily cloaked figure with nothingness all around him.
Maybe try a person on a street or something.
The horizon is at the top of his head.. the viewer is looking down. I have yet to finish the rest, if it helps there is going to be a figure walking up the steps (about 1/10 of the size) to pick up a sword at the base of his feet. The whole point is that it's pretty extreme scales. Also when i say it's a study it's also something i want to paint..
(The arrow is irrelevant, it was a lighting guide but i didn't stay true to it)
Edited:
The vanishing point is way way off to the left.. The lines all come perfectly from one point, i made a spherical 1 point VP. I don't think people realise that the statue is meant to be massive and i'm going to paint a figure that is very tiny walking up some steps below. Sorry if it wasn't obvious, I see what you mean about it being 2 points instead of one.. I'm still going to try and finish this so the mistakes are even clearer, because in my head it makes sense![]()
it's incorrect
Okay, do you see how I can salvage it now you know it's massive. A 2nd VP the same distance to the right? Even if I have to remake the entire thing I want to so I learn. I've tried really hard to wrap my head around perspective, everytime practicing with cubes and stuff it seems so easy yet when i apply it I fail.
I'll draw an example
Edited:
I only have paint
Edited:
You honestly don't need more lines than that
Oh I see now! How could i have been so retarded, i was just guessing the lines going diagonally to the right. Can't wait for my mind to just wrap around this so it's natural. Thanks Detlef, i'll restart tonight :)
seriously study the invention of perspective because that's really going to be beneficial
-snip- And i searched far and wide. Howcome when i type in "Doodle or Die" it doesn't show up? Besides, this was creative work, it doesn't need a thread, and i spent 40 minutes on it.
Hey guys, I entered this contest to design a magazine cover for Access magazine, the theme was 'Gaming taking over the world'. Im mainly doing it for my portfolio, if it wins It will be a massive contribution to my portfolio + I wouldnt mind winning a PS Vita. I would really appreciate it.

its a nice idea and generally the execution is good but what i would do is that the way the usbs' enter the earth looks quite strange, possibly would be better if they kinda fitted with the curvature of the earth rather than at random jaunty angles![]()
I have a tumblr now?
http://zombiewaffe.tumblr.com/
So when did you discover that you had a antler fetish anyways?
Teen deer wip is cool, mouth and nose seems to go in different directions.
last week I think
foll
owed
Is Teen Deer supposed to have strange nipples? The last two pictures of him I have seen (The painted one and this new one on your tumblr) have both looked a little strange in the nips department.
Is there a story behind Teen Deer or do you just like drawing him to incorporate your love for antlers and pretty boys?
hes cursed with antlers and strange nipples.
Edited:
Teen deer is a parody of the tv series teen wolf, where a teenager gets bitten by a werewolf, tho in teen deer he got nibbled on by a deer or something?
yeah...
Just screwing around. Getting some ideas out.

those are some cool designs
Some concept art of the "sweaty englishman" enemy type for a game I'm working on.
I don't appreciate racism okay
Edited:
How come there is a sword sticking out of his back?
reminds me a lot of the collectors(?) from mass effect and tau from 40k
they look awesome
The flat-ish rounded heads give a nice Asian/Vietnamese tint to the design as well
i've got a whole sketchbook filled with anatomy studies that ive been doing over the past months, but dont have a scanner ):
