Skyrim is crashing 1 second into loading, this is the first time it has happened, when I try to start it after this crash happens, it said something about the steam cloud being unable to sync the files?

    Help please!
    Validate files?

Farkas and I emerged out of Dustman’s Cairn, beaten and battered. My Ancient Nord Sword and War Axe were coated in blood, and Farkas was nearly a pin cushion for the Draugr’s Arrows. We thought the fighting was over, and we could tell Kodlak about my honorable performance. But we were wrong. Dead wrong. The worst had came.

    They came…

The fighting, it was over. I had to rely on my inborn ability, Histskin for salvation. But we did it.

We were up to our waists in bandits, axes, swords, bows and blood, yet we remained standing.

In Sovngarde, within Shor’s mighty halls, heroes will sing of this battle for years to come.

I love being a bandit with the live another life mod, it's nice to be able to go into the bandit fortresses and such with no harm and that the guards in the area that I started out in want to bring me to jail/kill me. Only thing now I need is a mod that has people travelling along the roads and such so I can rob them.

Does anyone develop a sort of attachment to their summoned (and charmed) creatures? They may only last for a tiny amount of time, but their animations are so cute!

You don't even need a mod for that. Sometimes a rich dude will spawn being guarded by an imperial soldier. If you talk to him I think you get the option to rob him (with an intimidate check). Plus there's plenty of other people wandering the roads, while you can't rob all of them you can just murder them and take their loot that way.

    That'll take awhile
From the sounds of it, they've already got some work done as they started in Oblivion, shouldn't be too hard to convert for Skyrim.

    Flame atronachs, eh?

Gotta pretty neat story about this place: (somewhere along White River)

The first time I went there, I looked around for loot. As there were several bandits (around 13 maybe) and I was low-leveled, I summoned a Flame Atronach. When we went a bit upstairs in the first tower and faced the bridge, around six bandits came running over, and my Thu'um was on cooldown, as I had just used Ice Form.

It was then that my Atronach positioned herself in the door opening and hurled fireballs at the oncoming bandits. It looked so cinematic, straight out of a movie. As the fireballs hit the bandits, they fell into the river, one by one, until the very last one reached us. Killed him by stabbing him through the stomach with my Steel Sword and threw him into the river. Best moment yet.

Also my loot human parts mod is going good, someone managed to make a script for me, and now when you take the ribcage the body disapear, which is not perfect, but still faaaaar better than a " perfect state dead body without his ribcage " .

    Oh the glory of mods,

Some mod broke the crime system. Basicly I can pretty much hit and kill people right infront of them and all I get is the other NPCs telling me to watch out swinging a weapon around like that.

Oh and the guards are massacring the villagers everywhere.

So, I started my "Stormcloak guerilla" playthrough and I decided to clear out the bandits near Bleak Falls with Sven as my companion. I gave him armor as we went along and after we slew the last man I turned around and saw this.

It looked even more badass with the snow moving behind him.

Is there a mod that lets you craft staves that you can enchant later at an arcane enchanter? I found some that let you craft already enchanted staves at forges but that's kind of immersion breaking.

So... after putting down Skyrim for a couple of months and then starting it back up again after the workshop update came out, I finally finished that College of Winterhold quest.

God... That quest was just so... ugh..

Everything thing that had happened, it all felt like it was leading up to some huge climax
and then the psijic monks just 'poof' the eye of magnus back into their world and just leave

... Feels like Bethesda really just half-assed that side quest.
In fact it had felt that way ever since the beginning, when you had to cast just a single spell to get in.

I know the Mages guild quest in Oblivion was a real pain in the ass to do (What with having to go to every guild hall), but atleast it made things much more satisfying when you finally got into the Arcane University.

    Two things.

    1. Still have this issue:
Weird. The actors I create, in-game, have faces with different skin color than their own skins (face = grey, rest of body = normal skin color for nords). What's going on?
    2. Now, whenever I get to the end of my quest (obtained the object and I am giving it to the NPC) it plays the final voice command, then nothing happens and there is the option to play it again. No quest ending, no item getting removed, no reward, nothing.

People have reported that they're getting better performance with the HD pack than they did with the regular textures so if using other Skyrim HD mods may make you lag then you should look into the official HD texture pack. It doesn't change much but you can notice the textures looking prettier than usual.

    Just to clarify a bit,

The official HD pack doesn't seem to change ANY of the world's textures.
They're all still at a shitty low resolution.

Plus, There's no gurarantee that you'll get an FPS boost with the official pack.
There's been a mix of people; some saying that it's helped their FPS, and others saying that it's either made their game laggier or even prevented Skyrim from loading.

If you want my personal opinion, just stick with Skyrim HD.

I think all it does is add high resolution weapons, armor, and some clothes.

All I do know for sure is it doesn't really have an impact on how pretty the game is and it definitely doesn't do anything to the world textures (landscape, plants, buildings, etc.)
So pretty much everything in the world is still horribly blurry/low-res.

    Edited:

Kind of funny... How most of us actually expected that Bethesda would deliver when they first announced the HD pack.

A low of the low-res is due to apparently absolutely terrible UV maps. There's a mod in progress on the Nexus that redoes them, making e.g. wooden pillars look a thousandfold better.
