I couldn't sleep and the 2010 version of the Karate Kid was on TV so I watched the rest of what was on.
The part where Mr. Han was crying made me sad :(

Hard Candy - ?/10
Ellen Page was really good in it, and I liked Patrick Wilson's character. But I really am not sure if I liked it or not. Very different flick.
Stranger Than Paradise - 9/10
Jim Jarmusch is easily one of the most brilliant, if not the most brilliant director of the last 30 years.
There is such a wonderful humanity to his characters, such a sense of poetry to each and every shot in his movies, and Stranger Than Paradise just might be his greatest work.
This is the sort of stuff because of which I watch movies to begin with.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- 8/10
Ow, my brain.
blissfully yours 8/10
patience is rewarding
The Mist
9/10
Fucking loved it. The ending actually made me feel emotion/reflect on shit.
Just like I said, a TV show thread won't last very long.
Relax. The film world disregards any hidden gems.
Unlike the music world. :-)
Edited:
Music has never had a bad era.
Edited:
Really great movie.
Scarface 9/10
Al Pacino in one of his finest roles. The story shows a near perfect rise of a character first arriving in America, to his eventual downfall, making bad decision after bad decision, and pushing everyone out of his life, until a memorable last stand.
Despite the character he is playing, you still get a feeling that after everything he has done, he still abides by his own principles, refusing to kill people under certain circumstances, yet killing others over what some would see as minute details.
Fantastic film.
Man on a Ledge 8/10 - the ending felt a little bit rushed
I dislike that movie. The photography was exaggerated, like they wanted to shoot it all "cool" with filter raping and shit, and the story was kind of lame.
I didn't find it nearly as mind fucking as people made it out to be.
actually yes, it has. not an era of better music, but an era of different music.
It may sound like a bad excuse now, but I only said that as an example, for what was the point of my post
I'll never understand the praise that the ending gets.
It was way too forced.
It's not praised, it's just shocking.
It was a fantastic ending. A nice change from either the group being killed by the monsters or getting out alive.
Edited:
Also I just noticed Dale and Andrea are in that movie.
The fact that you know nothing amuses me. :-)
I Saw The Devil
Fucking intense, 8.5/10, first time I've felt uneasy because of a movie
Battle Royale 8/10
Amazing movie though Kawadas boner ruined the ending for me.
wait what
Definitely one of the better "revenge" movies I've ever seen.
21 grams 8/10
Nice movie, some very well performed roles and nice story, very interesting, and also diferent from the rest of the films. I liked it
The book of Eli 9/10
I wouldn't say Book of Eli is a 9/10 movie, maybe 6 or 7, but damn that soundtrack is fantastic.
Chinatown 10/10
I'm not kidding, this is the only film alive that I can respectfully give a 10. It's perfect in every way and, no joke, the best film I've ever seen.
I especially love the Chinatown motif, that it means failure and not being able to do anything, reflecting on the end
God Bless America - 7.5/10
Comparisons to Super (2010) are too easy so I won't go on about them, but, the main character, Frank, decides that he can't live in a world with "bad" people any more and makes it his personal mission to kill people that deserve to die. Along the way he meets a young girl who shares his ideals and she becomes his sidekick. They kill a lot of people. There are similarities, but they aren't detrimental to the film and it would be silly to say the film had "copied" Super.
Firstly, I would encourage pretty much all facepunchers to watch this movie, it seems like one of those movies that people who frequent the internet's darkest depths would enjoy, I bet 4chan will like it. As someone who detests talent shows such as "Insert Country Here's" Got Talent I found myself rooting for Frank (played by Joel Murray, brother of Bill) as he tried to protect the weak people who are so often exploited for views. The reveal at the end The man that Frank initially thought he was protecting turned out to only want to get on tv rang true.
I'd also like to mention Tara Lynn Barr, the young actress who played Frank's 'sidekick' Roxy. I much preferred her over the obnoxious Libby from Super. I think she'll grow up to be a very competent actress indeed.
So yeah, see this film. It's good.
It was stupid and unnecessary.
I don't really get the filter rape comment, but I did think the beginning was a little disorienting, with all of those super close up shots.
How's the artist? Overrated?
Just watched Eraserhead
idk what to rate it
But it was a mission to get through. Not because it was ~toodeep4me~ or too surreal or anything
just thought it was kinda boring
it dragged on massively
It seemed like it kinda tried to be too out there instead of actually being out there idk
It wasn't terrible it was pretty weird I dunno it was ok I guess won't bother watching it again I don't think. I usually leave weirder films to come back to them but honestly I don't think there's a lot of point with this since there's nothing really to work out from it. What happened happened and it didn't really have much meaning to any of it as far as I can tell. Just a bunch of random weird shit.
Idk about that, but I felt it was ironic in a somewhat comedic way, not dramatic. It didn't convince me.
Chinatown's screenplay is considered the best one ever written by many writers, I have to agree, everything about it is perfect.
Edited:
It's pretty split, a lot of people love it, a lot of people think it's garbage, best to just find out for yourself.
A lot of people seem to dislike The Artist because of its success, make of that what you will.
The Divide 10/10
Fucking awesome movie and it really goes to show how fucked up people can get.
Apollo 18 4/10
movie was a piece of shit. Camera held movies aren't really my thing with the exception of cloverfield.
it seemed like one of those photography test films you find on vimeo made into a movie
Good Will Hunting 9/10
Watched it in my Psychology class, wasn't expecting much, but I absolutely loved it. One of, if not, the very best movie I've ever seen.
Yet you only give it a 9?
I'm going to watch that tonight for the first time, actually. I'm in a movie watching mood.
I tend not to give out 10s for things, as there's generally room for improvement in anything. That said though, on second thought, I can't really think of anything in need of improvement.![]()
Boring ain't the word for that mass heap of what the ass.
It's good, bad and ugly.

Saw We Have to Talk About Kevin
Inspired bit of overlooked goodness. Will talk more when has sunk in.
