So I did a bit of digging after lurking about you guys talking about evading bans.

There's apparently 3 things commonly known to the public a byond ban goes through.

First it assigns a UID variable to the client's computer and ONLY the computer. This is so it allows networking through a router apparently. Then it bans your key and your IP address.

Apparently the thing keeping the populace from working their away around it is the UID ban, which nobody knows how it is tied to the computer. But apparently according to that guide it's tied to your Hard Drive's volume ID. What I assume you have to do is swap out volume IDs, create a new account under a proxy IP address and using a fake e-mail.

Alternatively it could be tied to any number of things on your Hard Drive's ID, but that's a bit too simple. There's a risk to changing the volume ID which is why they do it under a VM though, and that's because Hard Drive recognition could fail which is self explanatory.

i don't think bans are tied to the computer
i got permabanned from a server on an account at my old house. i moved, and using a new byond account, i was able to rejoin the servers with no problems with nothing else changed.

    They are.

    http://www.byond.com/members/?comman...%2Fcomputer_id

What that is, is the variable that is assigned to what is presumably the Hard Drive serial number.

Apparently there are multiple types of bans, and you didn't get what these guys call a "CID" ban:

What's with the sudden obsession with evading bans? I'm not against greifing or anything, but it just seems a bit odd that a ton of people are talking about it now.

Okey, what the fuck is wrong with 10minutemail

If you get too many addresses within a few minutes its supposed to ban your IP for a bit, but for me its banning me WHILE FETCHING DATA, and even though a new IP is used every time it still bans it

    what the fuck is this

    http://37.59.237.165/account.php

    So this thing finally works

    enter username and password

    boom byond account

if you get some error about 10minutemail refresh until you get another proxy

    Edited:

i need to add more proxies to this thing, 3 doesnt seem to be enough

    Edited:

either that or i need a better host for disposable emails, preferably with a PHP API since the 10minutemail stuff I use now is just regex

i'll take a look at that

    Edited:

it wont work while i mess with it though

    Edited:

Okey, its now using guerillamail, thanks for the tip about that, their API is great

its really reliable now, it also picks out of 8 proxies now so the BYOND limit on account registration rate per IP should never be reached

I don't know what you mean. Is it taking really long for the temperature in the air pump to get to 970000 degrees for you?

Ehh, try reversing the order, you're doing the opposite of my usual setup. Also you appear to be on goon, so that may be the problem.

It takes around 5 minutes real-time for the air pump to reach full temperature normally, how long have you been waiting?

Like 20. And the order has to be right, the O2 is sending in the 33 and 66% to the room and the air pump is receiving it hrough the other side.

Just tried the ban evasion technique posted earlier with the DLL swapping method to change the harddrive ID on Gibbed 4 (which I was previously banned from). It unfortunately didn't work.

It's still possible if an admin feels like it, they can remove the bomb cap.

    Most bans arent IP based

If you change account in the middle of a round it will warn the admins about having the same IP though
