got my 7' of Jabdah in the post yesterday :)
got my 7' of Jabdah in the post yesterday :)
Also my Dad gave me his box of old 45s to look through, with stuff from the Beatles, the Jam, Procol Harum and more.
I've got a couple of boxes full of 7" 45s from my mum. There's a lot of gems in there except very few them have sleeves.
Eventually I'm going to go through the box clean them up as best possible and give them all sleeves.
Went to a record fair today. Picked a few 12"s up.
YEAH I USE INSTAGRAM AND WHAT
I got that new Animal Collective 12" today. It's pretty weird but I really like it. It's nothing like the stuff I've heard from them before.
Yeah about that...

thinking about getting a few more disco singles from amazon, then trawling Hull'z rekkid shops after I (hopefully) get this job
Blunderbuss by Jack White came in the other day. The first record I bought with my own money.
Money well spent, I'd say.
any albums you guys first listened to on vinyl?
from the top of my head:
Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
Yes - Fragile
Genesis - Duke
George Benson - Breezin'
few more live albums but these are the first ones to come to mind.
same over here with fragile
also:
!!! - the moon must be revisited EP
the get up kids - automatic
flying lotus - cosmogramma alt takes
The first vinyl I bought was piece of mind by iron maiden.
Only ones I listened on vinyl without knowing what it was were
Sunn O))) - 00 Void
Earth - Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light Part 2
That new AnCo one I forgot the name of.
Olafur Arnalds - Stare
Swans - Time Is Money
The first record I listened to was probably The Wall with a friend of mine when I first found the turntable in my parents' room
Edited:
Also I know you guys love ego stroking, so get your teeth around this:

Got this a while back.

My god, I want it so bad, why'd I have to order all those ska/reggae albums? :/
Grew up on my parents Vinyls, just started my own collection! It's stealing all my money but luckily where I work sells Vinyls and I get a 50% discount, it's good that they're cheaper, but because of that, I just buy more than I normally would ahaha
I didn't even realise it would look good on vinyl. Nice one.
Edited:
on clear vinyl too, awesome.
amazing considering the price
saw a copy of Quiet life for £6.50 in the record shop closest to me, i sispect i'll buckle and buy it in the next few days
Just got the Grateful Dead Warner Bros. Box Set for my birthday! I'm getting Jack White's Blunderbuss tomorrow, along with a stylus and record brush.
Just picked up; The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimerical Bombination in 12 Bursts by the Refused, and Give Up by The Postal Service. It's going to be a good night :D
random selection from the dollar bin. I was pretty pleased to hear one of the songs is the source of a sample on CunninLynguists - Remember Me
I got Nail by Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel yesterday and now i'm pretty sure everyone hates me
fuck whomever does because foetus is great
ALL FROM THE FUCKING ONE DOLLAR BIN HOLY SHIT. first song on the Little Feat album is beyond fucked but that's one track of two discs so whatever.
also got this for a normal price. beautiful music. (Mahavishnu Orchestra, since i guess you can't read it when my picture taking sucks so much)

Swear everyone and their dog has a copy of that Terence Trent D'Arby album
Edited:
Oxygene is cool though
Got an original copy of Inner Mounting Flame on eBay, good catch with Birds of Fire c:
Edited:
Also Cosmo's Factory :respek:
How's the condition?
Preordered this badboy. Oh man new material from AnCo.
http://www.myanimalhome.net/
I found a copy of With the Beatles for £9 in Oxfam Books but it was in a pretty bad state.
Also records in there are extortionate for a charity shop.
Who doesn't have that Terence album?
Edited:
Awesome. I've never found a Jarre album, and that CCR is cool.
I just flicked through my records and I couldn't see that Terence album, but am almost certain I did have it at some point.
Edited:
I had a dream a few weeks ago I was listening to Liquid Swords on vinyl, but a few days ago I was looking for it before I realised I've never had it.
I would like it though
Mannnn I'm jealous of those AJJ records, they probably sound fantastic on vinyl!
nope theyre just as boring and contrived as they are in MP3 form sorry
those ccrs! ;D
and that was the most surprising find. that same day the owner just bought like hundreds of records (tiniest record store I've ever seen) and they were just all over the floor. good day!
have you listened to that Cat Stevens album? I love it.
I have Teaser and the Firecat digitally, which is pretty damn good.
well it's not as good because it doesn't have the song Father and Son :')
Finally ordered myself Kid A, super excited.
One of my friends bought a record ages ago, and it's started to skip, any remedies.
It needs cleaning or it's scratched. There's not really a great deal you can do for scratches.
Edited:
Could be that the turntable needs calibrating
