Have you run arma 2 before?

Yes, I fired up Arma 2 to make sure it wrote a directory.
I see all the game icons on the game menu, BAF, OA and Arma 2.
I also see @dayz in the top right under Arma 2

Not quite sure what could still be causing the problem then, check if there's a chernarus.pbo file in Arma 2\AddOns\

Yesterday my group of 3 randomly met Rocket, the developer.. he wasnt trusting us until we cleared up the situation.
The best thing? He had NVGs an suppressed gun, amazing stuff on him and we grouped for about an hour sneaking around the airfield! He shot one survivor that simply stared at us and not reacting towards our "stand still, dont move" first he did that and just started running into the woods... Rocket killed him by small bursts, he was sad after that. Sad sad lonely survivor got killed by the dev. Atleast the dev haves human feelings unlike many other people.
Thank you Rocket for giving me an GPS.

Already got Arma 2 installed into the OA directory. Yes, there's a Chernarus.pbo in my Arma 2 addons.
Will try this sixupdater, getting fed up now.

Did you install ArmA 2 into the OA dir? 'cos that what I did and it worked fine for me. I have ArmA 2 retail and OA on Steam.
Might wanna try running ArmA 2 seperate first so it generates its shizzle, then run OA and see if the mod is working.

Actually, in the batch file you could enter the manual path for arma 2 instead of the one that relies on registry keys couldn't you?

What the fuck, I was sneaking through the woods towards a town and suddenly I hear a loud "HUGHUEHUEHEUHHUEHUEHGGHUGHGHGHGEHGGEHGEGGUGUH GUH" behind me and there is this random bandit just screaming at me.
Next he just fired 5 shots of his AK into the air and logged off, I got swarmed.

DayZ mod is like Battlelog, but worse.
So many problems they got just becasue they need to send data to their "leaderboards & stats".

Theres not much special done or causing any issues in relation to leaderboard stuff, It's just getting stuff from the central database which saves peoples characters.

Where is the 1.5.2 already. Running through towns to find only tin cans because the loot is broken in 1.5.1 is getting old.

Saving profiles on the website, a big waste for both the host and the players.

A summary of my first day in DayZ...
I spend half an hour trying to get into the servers. There are a ton of them, so I'm surprised how popular the mod has become. I manage to get into EU 1 or 2 and spawn on a nice little beach near a big industrial town. The place is called 'Factory' according to the game.
I skulk around for half an hour or so, don't find anything apart from tin cans and whisky bottles. Then I crash. On the next server I manage to get into, it's sunset. Uh oh. I wander around some more and spot a flare in the distance, so I head there. I arrive at the train station, bathed in red light, and find a Winchester. Nifty.
I continue to roam the streets, finding odd tidbits of food or scrap metal. I pass a grocery store, inside I find another Winchester and some glowsticks. I haven't seen any zombies thus far, apart from a few corpses on the road.
I emerge from the shop and see red light in the distance again. I cautiously edge towards it, saying "Friendly! I'm coming round...don't shoot." Then I get shot in the face.
Later on I hook up with some guys and trek down a highway for a while. We shot a cow. It was delicious.

Really gotta find a group though. Life in this game is hard when you go solo.

Since you can play with one character, which is persistent across all servers, servers which are in different parts of the worlds, yes?
So that must mean you can remotely access it, and did you just say the same twice?
Alright you corrected it, local "nodes" for the backend is planned I believe, where they send the data to the central server in intervals.

I think the entire server is going to be bandits soon. Since yesterday total murders have increased by almost 2000.

Hmm nope, says I have a load of .pbo files that are not signed by a key accepted by the server.
So basically everything in the addons file is now apparantly cheat files or something so the server won't accept them ....*sigh*

I fucking hate PKers. Was at devils castle with my bud just chilling. He had to go away for a bit and then some random guy comes up and shoots me in my back. No fucking reason at all.

Right, here is the fix (Had to get 3 people through this yesterday)
Uninstall ARMA2 (Leave OA on steam)
Remove six updater (Permanently)
Re-install ARMA 2, patch and boot up once.
Boot OA once.
Boot combined ops once (from the steam right click menu)
(This will link the two correctly, with the correct signed keys being in both folders, this is what you will be missing)
Get a DECENT launcher (Not alpine stars, try this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8241)
Boot up the launcher and point it to the two EXE locations.
Create the @days folder (in either location, I use OA just because) inside that another folder called addons and in there all the PBO's and keys.
With the launcher booted, create a group add @dayz and tick the group and addon.
Launch in the bottom right with ARMA2 - CO.
Enjoy.

I found DMR and became a bandit. A while later around 10 people were hunting for me and I got shot.
