I recently bough CO on steam to try Day Z. I've downloaded all the files from the main Day Z website and put them into a folder called @Dayz just like people have said previously in the thread but whenever I try to join a server I keep getting an error saying I cannot play this mission due to downloadable content being deleted and listing dayz_code, dayz_weapons, dayz_equip and dayz_vehicles. I've deleted all files in the folder and redownloaded them as I heard there was an update recently but I get the same errors. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

I followed this guide (http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comment...dayz_properly/) down to the letter and it worked for me, maybe try that if you didn't already.
And if it's not the steam version, if you scroll down a bit someone made a launcher for it.

Ah thank you. After reading that I realised I forgot to create another folder called addons in the @dayz folder, I've swapped all the files over so hopefully now everything will be fixed.

DayZ must be one of the best things that has happened to ArmaII.

You have to do it right man, I always hunt down players that I know aren't really.. active in the chat. Usually by shooting them while hiding in the woods.
I always aim for the legs - if they fall down and are incapacitated, I loot their gear and replace it with stuff I find worth trading and of course leave them with a bandage or two for their legs.
Other times I might miss and alert them in which case I have to put them down, sadly.

I believe Freelance is group of their own, feel free to create a temporary sub channel of your own to the dayz channel

I just bought Arma 2 OA recently,I'm enjoying it but, it's really hard to fly.

They need to make campfires easier to see in grass.

My group accidentally shot at two survivors and we had to finish them off because they fired back.
Almost felt bad about it until we found out both of them were bandits.

Playing DayZ every thing has been going well. I was chilling in Selinichy, hiding in some building for awhile. Take a step outside and a shot landed next to me. Sprinted back inside and heard a person with a thick german accent screaming obscurities at me. I was basically camping the door when he started screaming fuck you after firing into the air then running away. I died from the all the zombies

Or not. "You cannot play/edit this mission. It is depending on downloadable content that has been deleted." I have a folder called "@DayZ" in the operation arrowhead folder, and in the DayZ folder theres an addons folder with all the files. Any help?

You sure your launch parameters got the folder correctly spelled, as in "-mod=@DayZ;".

Oh I forgot that yes,. You need a ; after. So it should be "-mod=@DayZ;"

I want to try DayZ so bad, but I found out that you need Combined Ops rather than just OA, and I don't really have that extra cash. Anyone know where to get them cheap?

Oh, I think there's a free version of regular old ARMA 2 on steam somewhere.

I love how much of a waste of time this mod is! Spend a couple hours regrouping with friends, killing some idiotic bandits, and looting some cool shit, just to die to one guy with an AKM who spotted us with the scroll-wheel from a good few hundred meters away outside of our building.

PROBLEMS W/ DAYZ-
after a patch about a week ago for dayz, i started stuttering every exactly 30 seconds
this also just got me killed while playing w/ 3 other friends, and also because of an exploit on most servers that don't have the difficulty setting on veteran/expert that just lets you see names across the fucking map

Better try to join the servers running on expert 50 times over else yeah, you just get spotted through buildings and around corners w/ third-person.

Ok, I'm confused. What if I have Arma II and Arma II OA separate on Steam. Do I actually have to buy the CO pack for this to work?

I already own Arma 2, so can I just get OA or do I need CO for DayZ?

Combined Operations is just Arma 2 content running under the OA executable. Just buy OA- there's no sense in buying Arma 2 again.

Could someone please flick me their wheeled2.pbo file that's located in the addons folder of ArmA II? I think my installation files got corrupted and the only other option left is to re-download the 6.6gb installation files again at 90kbs. It refuses to start up and get past the boxes because of this.
