Did a very rough wiki article on the tower. I mainly plan to use it to outline future plans to keep everyone informed. Pictures'll be added later.

There's a nether portal, the tunnel is next to the spawn nether portal, with a sign saying "Doom's Tower" or something like that, bloody thing keeps changing

    Edited:

Does anyone know how the falsebook rail stuff works? Specifically how the 8x booster is done?

That's actually a lot like how I do it, except that I've got all the commands set to macros on my keyboard (I've got the Microsoft Sidewinder X4, easily the greatest keyboard I've ever had).

Also, on Saturday I'm going to be gone most of the day. However, by then I'm hoping to have the next portion of the facility ready for draining. Those of you who are already on the build team are asked to help draining, and you guys (AlanRH, Apcragg) can hire additional help with a budget of 2400 between the two of you. It's one of 5 large living space pods, so it is a big job. Anybody else who is interested in doing this job, PM me

    Edited:

Also, doom, I'll get you some fancy widescreen snapshots of your tower with fancy lighting and such if you'd like.

You've obviously never had a mechanical keyboard then

Oh, and falsebook is awesome. How come people don't make their gates with P-detection so they automatically open? Or make gates/drawbridges that close at night? That would be pretty cool.

Falsebook has a night detection block (MC1230), just use that.

(falsebook is installed on the server btw, if that wasn't clear).

Problem is I think the server uses a different block for it. Was looking at the spawn/cordova rail and it baffled me how apart from the initial boost, there was only 1 other set of boosters in between.

Made a chicken farm, so I can harvest feathers for arrows to go hunt pigmen. Got a lot of flint and nothing to use them on.

Thing is though that the spawn railways don't use anything like that, so the block used is something different, or there's some other way i'm completely missing :/
Who made the spawn/cordova railway btw?

I'm not sure why it doesn't need boosters. I made it but it just worked the whole time so I never bothered adding any. I think carts just move indefinately or have very low friction.

Sorry if I haven't been on in a while, I've been busy with school stuff and distracted by RuneScape. I just started getting back into it last month. It's okay if my unfinished lot has been taken already, I'll find some other spot to build when I get the chance.

What's with the ridiculous chat filter? The swearword filter is easy to circumvent, and surely if someone is being obnoxious in chat you'd want to take them off the whitelist rather than gimping everyone else.

And the no-caps thing is just dumb. I can't even type acronyms like "URL" properly.

Can we please remove these plugins? They only take away from the server; I don't see any benefits.

I want to use a chest collector (MC1209), but it doesn't seem to be enabled, or perhaps the craftbook version installed is too old? There are no permission messages (or other messages at all) when trying to create one, so I don't think that's the issue. The non-self-triggered version doesn't work either.

Is there another plugin installed with similar functionality?

That doesn't work as well as it used to, it used to make you lift really fast if there was an adjacent air block.
It still works though, on mobs too :)

In case people haven't heard me boasting, I'm building a library town to store books that we will find useful after 1.2.6. The building site is located roughly 1500, 650 and it's 2 minutes of boating away from Tower of Doom.

There will be a central library and a town around it with supportive buildings. The town will be called New Alexandria - in reference to the famous greek library.

Should you find yourself interested, feel free to come help or watch. Now, REFERENCE PICS!

What does everyone think of this as a redesign of the tower's 1st floor? Suggestions?

It's raping my browser every time I go past it, doesn't work well with huge images that're thumbnailed, since FP's thumbnail tags still render the whole image, just resizes them afterwards.
