I think we'll definitely see heroes added at a faster rate to the beta. Heroes currently have to be polished before they're added to the main game, but they will probably be added to the testing channel at the beta stage. We could very well see a few heroes an update.

everybody in the beta is going to get the test version so they can play the raw version of an update before valve makes tweaks and releases it to the main beta.

I'm almost positive that this is part of Valve's move to accelerate into publicly releasing DOTA 2.

also iirc the move towards updating DOTA 2 to the WC3 stats was planned towards the end of the DOTA 2 beta.

Whats a good item build for Furion (Nature's Prophet)? I know good beginning items and I know how to jungle and all that junk but I can never figure out a good build for him while I'm progressing and getting more gold and it ends up costing me.

One thing that bothers me, is that Dota 2 is still beta-invitational only. It's essentially closed beta with feedback forum up and running. Why would they need a test version if :
1. Current Dota 2 build has the option to run "tournament", i.e. if they need Dota 2 for public event they can run stable version no matter the latest patch.
2. Purpose of Beta is to test content, mechanics and servers.
If they wanted to lower the amount of people to just the devoted testers, then it might work, though I expect a lot of people switching for just the updates and not the testing.

because they want to release patches to a test-client where people who actually want to give feedback can and by the time they release it to the main client where all the players are the bugs are fixed.

1. The Tournament mode is just for 6.72f changes, rather than 6.73.
2. I think Valve is really pushing to make the current Dota 2 Beta a complete product, just without all the heroes at the moment. The quality of each the heroes in the updates has been very, very high so far. Also, I bet Valve has wasted quite a bit of time each Thursday trying to clear up massive issues with new heroes/bugs, that would be solved much easier with these widescale actual beta tests. This might mean more heroes can be shipped at once, rather than taking the risk of putting out 4 heroes at once to the current beta, they've got a good place to find and work out the kinks quickly. We'll see, though.

Void wasn't farming at all early, so I thought we were gonna lose for a while. Then we started stomping
Zeus had to leave about 25 minutes through because he needed to sleep, and the rest of the team was worried we'd lose if we held out until 45 minutes.
Also Zeus this game is the Tinker from my last game.

I always thought necro's q was just 2 attacks so i usually only picked him when they had huskar. I now have a newfound love for a new hero.

Been fooling around on /v/ with the recent obsession with making Dota Magic cards. These have been my contributions so far.

Unless they go balls to the wall adding like 4-5 heroes and change major elements like the hud every week i don't see a reason for having 2 separate clients.

Open beta could be a reason. Valve know that most people will just play the game for fun if they do an open beta and glitches,bugs are not fun.
Imo, they dont want to repeat the case with the BF3 beta where people we're so disappointed by the bugs in it, they candled their pre-orders. They'll want to have a more polished version to show to everyone and one where they first add new things and see what the actual testers think of it. Let the testers test and the players play.

Two reasons why:
1.) Valve probably wants to implement some borderline-gamebreaking changes very fast to test things out. Which means many heroes at once, bulk stat edits for items, etc.
2.) Valve wants to weed out who's serious about testing. People who just want to play DOTA for DOTA are going to run into beta, goof around and play, and then quit playing. People who want to play DOTA and test it are going to download the 2nd client as well and help Valve by playing & generating/posting feedback.

Really Valve is going to try to shoot to get DOTA 2 out sooner rather than later. I think they want to get DOTA in the public's hands before June hits.

Gah, stomping pubstompers would be so fun.
I mostly played him on dota-league, always blamed for shit pick, but end up carying with fucking hex/eul's and stasis trap disables, not even mentioning 750magic aoe dmg each 10 seconds.
I'd also love to see magnataur soon and roof, maybe then pubbers will think of picking those to do some teamwork when encouraged to combine ultimates, because I barely see people do that with blackhole/vacuum/ravage and similar combos.
