Haha at a hospital event almost 60% of the people wear a hospital tshirt :p
did not expect the drop to be dnb in this one, since they're shitty house-producers
Not to shitpost, but what are your people's opinions on what defines DnB?
Really, I don't care about genre; there's just a certain quality to some music that I like.
My favorites are (in order): Renard Queenston, Futret, Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin aka AFX etc), Evol Intent, The Qemists, Flux Pavilion, and Pendulum.
Sample of Renard:
I only have an album or two of the above artists, except for Renard (Just checked, 951 tracks of like 30 albums) and Futret (4 albums) and AFX (4 albums).
I have 1,491 songs in my music library collected over the years, most from random artists (except for the above favorites) and most of it I think could fit in the same genre.
Really, now that I think about it, what are the definitions of House, DnB, Techo, Electo[nic], etc? I retag all of my music and most of them are "Electronic" because I don't know/understand all the subgenres all over the place.
170-180 BPM, is the only thing that can really define something as Drum & Bass for me anymore, seeing as there are so many different styles of DnB, or sub-genres, if you want to call it that.
Darkness
jesus, that snare :O
It's tunes like that which make me want to get a set of decks and start mixing, but alas no :c
That is one sexy roller
Only good mix of that track, original is abysmal.
Not to be a whore, but what do you guys think of this?
Have some newer noisia, too.
Went to a sick party in belgium last night.

You'd better have seen El-B.
Yup, saw half of it. He's a don.
Edited:
Also Slowbro, just checked your soundcloud! Your music is really good! love the use of old music samples.
Here's a clip of a new tune which i made. check it out please ;)
Calyx & Teebee are just too good. Absolute banger
Edited:
Cheers :)
I just checked it out too. Really nice!
I guess I don't like DnB then, because most of my music in my library exceeds that. And has ear rape, everywhere. Step on Stage is a more mild variant. Let me give another example...
That's one of my favorites.
I've looked around, and, as far as I can see, I apparently like the following genres (of which I understand the meaning of none):
Speedcore
Rave/ravecore
Breakcore
Whydoeseverythingendincorecore
So yeah :U
Though, I do like some slower (to my standard) tracks, like a small fraction of my Renard, or the WipEout Pulse sountrack (which introduced me to Noisia).
I also have a soft spot for 8-bit/lower quality music.
Ahh yeah...
this is not for the drum and bass thread. please... take this music elsewhere
Just checked out Split The Atom Special Edition, and I'm liking this remix:
Am I missing something? In my weekly Juno new releases email:
We Are One (Logistics)
We R The Ones (Klute / Nymfo)
We Were Always One (Technicolour / Komatic)
its almost here.
and @ ziks, dnb tunes have a habit of always having similar names to eachother- check the amount of tunes that have 'tonight' as the first word, its really something else
I've noticed that, but it just seemed odd with 3 releases in the same week having a similar name. It's like there was an organised piss take on Logistics or something.
Awesome neurofunk mix by Maztek
if there were ever more reason to post in this thread
thats very much Speedcore (a variant of hardcore), Breakcore tends to be put in the DnB bracket though.
DnB can be pretty hard though for example:

while im here... jungle time!
and a mellow one everyone should know because LTJ Bukems the king. And as they say, if you dont know, get to know ;)
Loving this, oldschool jungle vibes
Pascal time.
Just got back from seeing Netsky & High Contrast in Baltimore. Absolutely awesome show. High Contrast's mixing was spot on, and Netsky's was great too, but a little bit rough at times. Still you could tell he was having a lot of fun which made for a good vibe.
Also it was Netsky's birthday so we all sang happy birthday to him.
I was in the front with my friend, he managed to catch this picture of them together:
and I got this one of just Netsky.
All in all, awesome show. Go see them if you get the chance.
High Contrast's an ace DJ. Saw a set of his a few years ago and that basically got me into Drum & Bass.
high contrast is an incredibly skilled dj, im not a fan of alot of his new stuff but im sure his live show is well worth the money
newish ulterior motive, looking forward to this release
i fucking love break!! Here's a tune thats forthcoming on critical.
one of the best and most consistent producers in DNB, together with Calibre and SPY (They all make a lot of tunes, heard somewhere SPY has like 2000 tracks he send to hospital, wtf)
Edited:
Talking about SPY. This tune is finally getting a release.
There's still too many genres to keep track of. It seems daily that people find new names for their music.
Y so mad? Relax, bro.
Some people say they need cocaine and heroin and other shit like that to feel good...
Hogwash, I say.
He's not "mad". He's just saying none of what you posted is Drum and Bass. This is a Drum and Bass thread after all.
Smooth as the bonnet of a Porsche.
