my $15 pair laughs at theirs
Ladies and Gentlemen, literally the worst set of photos I've ever taken god damn;
I did the foam mod and stuck an Antlion ModMic on my 558's, burn-in isn't done yet so I can't report on the sound, but they sound pretty great out of the box, and they're comfy as fuck. I'm so use to leather/pleather though so velure feels kind of weird, but I'll adjust for sure.
Also, heres the E6 I ordered.

Oh um, I got these

I would have gotten those, but I personally think it's hideous, and besides the slightly different honeycomb structure they're the exact same except for a piece of removable foam on the inside. Saved me 70 bucks, so welp.
i think theyre sexy
Edited:
+ id rather spend more money so i dont have to tinker with stuff.
i dont trust myself
i break things when i tinker with them
Heh. It's actually a pretty easy mod, just pull out the foam, a layer of mesh, and unscrew a few things, and voila, you have 598's.
As for the looks, I dunno, I'm just not a fan of the colours. Seems more suited to the interior of a car.
e: It actually reminds me of my car exactly, the black and all.
(not my actual picture, but you get the point.)
its meant to have like, a retro vibe, i guess. i dig it. its hot
pair of these should be arriving today: http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-HAS4X-Xt...8944686&sr=8-3
It'll be interesting to see how to price compares to the quality.
I have no idea how they perform, but I tell you what they sure are horrendous looking. Especially that urban camo head cushion
true, they do look like a 13 year old's wet dream but i'm hoping to get some decent sound for the price.
you know you could have got http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-RP...8945489&sr=8-1 and not looked like you're 13 for 5 more
Would Grado SR60i be a good choice? I'm willing to spend a few extra dollars outside my budget if it's worth it.
Student budget.
not really, they're open (you wanted closed) and have bad soundstage (i think?) which is bad for gaming. If you decided for open rather than closed, I'd say to get HD555
I don't really know of any other cheap closed haedphones except HARX700 and HTF600
Who the fuck thought that design was a good idea?![]()
well, post a review. I'm interested in how they sound
I did say preferably, so I am open to suggestions for other headphones. And most of my gaming is mainly for it's bgm and stuff, over footsteps and other things. The HD555 is $100 over my current budget but I should have enough for it in fortnight.
Sorry, no idea what Aus prices are, could you give me a few sites to take a look at?
http://www.myshopping.com.au
http://www.shopbot.com.au
There are other sites but they're all out of stock.
Still waiting for my HiFiMANs, this company is terrible with shipping, even if it is coming from China or New York or wherever.
Any place where I can find trustworthy people who could buy my shit on the US and ship it to me?
Seventyfive dorrah is way too may
Got these :)
Dunu Hephaes (too bassy for my taste but the build quality and looks are awesome)
Digizoid ZO2 (miracle cure for missing bass punch in IEMs, totally blown away by the synergy with RE272 while playing Killing Floor)
Low gain to high gain transition indicator:
High Gain (for headphone out):
First level contour (less bass), total 32 levels:
Medium level contour (less bass):
Last level contour (less bass):
Multipurpose switch (on/off/gain switch/contour switch):
Accessories with Hephaes
Edited:
Head fi. I got my ZO2 that way, though I did buy Dunu Hephaes from him as a token of returning the favor.
Tempted to buy one of those ZO2.
i'm clearly very late to the party but what the hell do those things do
I believe they're some kind of amplifier with EQ functions.
I thought it was a mood amp. When you're banging your head it's black, when you're banging your gf th light turns red.
Quoting from ClieOS review:
http://www.digizoid.com/zo/
I forgot to mention somthing. DO NOT GET THE SONY MRD-NC6'S. I got a free pair from my sister and i have to say they suck shit. They have bass, but they just sound like they don't.
I've been interested in the HD 558, but my dad told me that the cheaper HD 518 is adequate for my needs. I'm mainly gaming. Which one should I go for?
tell your dad to fuck off
558 foam strip mod get near 598 quality
So my shitty $10 headphones broke today when I accidentally pulled on the cord. I'm not sure what even broke, but the left speaker doesn't work.
What is the best circumaural headphones that I can get for $30?
goddamnit, my JVC's were supposed to come on saturday, which the university mail room office isn't open on. Hope they don't dissapear into some amazon warehouse failed delivery black hole :(.
Oh my god my fucking ears.
NO headphones in existence fits them. I've tried over 7 pairs of in-ear earphones and various normal earphones and they all just plop right off. My ear is small is shit. I've even tried the curvy ones where they wrap behind your ear. Nope still falls off.
What else can I buy that fits me, thats also cheap? I have to resort to a behind-the-head headphones now, but I can't bring it along with me to school cause it takes up a fuck load of space.
But 518 is nearly great as 558 and 598.
I'm looking for a pair of headphones, under $25, that are comfortable enough that I can lie down in bed on my side with them on and sleep through the night. Quality is not as important as comfort in this case. Besides, it's only going to be plugged in to my phone.
You could get a pair of IEMs.
Budget: $100
eBay: Yes
Country: Australia
Isolation: Closed
Purpose: Music 50%, games 50%
Music Tastes: Any form of techno (DnB, electro, house, dubstep, drumstep etc.), game OST
Previous Experiences: Plantronics Gamecom 377 (fucking horrible), Logitech G35 (also fucking horrible)
Comments: Looking to stop using this stupid headsets and all this 7.1 surround sound bullshit. I may be able to spend a little more dosh if it's worth it, but I still need to get a separate microphone.
HE-6s:
Holy shit you lucky bastard
