Welp, I'm returning the BlackWidow. It doesn't have nkro so I end up not being able to press certain buttons during BF3. Plus I'm not sure if its because I'm used to the G15 or if it's the keyboard but whenever I try to start typing after resting my hands on the keyboard I always rest them a little too far to the left and I end up pressing the wrong letters.
Fuck, time for a new mech keyboard. Again.

Alright I just bought the Adesso MKB-135B. Hopefully the QC isn't what most of the negative reviews say it is...
And if it does turn out to be bad, blank das keyboard it is!

Why not just get a Filco and call it a day? It's hard to do better than a Filco without going realforce.
Also it's possible nitpicking, but it's weird how that Adesso has the keycap lettering different on most keys, it's just all over the place, and the crooked keycaps:
It's a nice looking board though, but those with OCD should stay well away.

I'm still having some issue deciding what switches to get. I've been doing a lot of reading on this and it seems like most people are just fine gaming on blue, but some people seem to think it's a hindrance compared to for example browns. I will be gaming a good bit with this keyboard, so I'm a bit torn on this issue. I want something that is good to type on, while still being good to game on.
I'm pretty sure I'll go for either blues or browns, but I can't decide which would be best for me. Keep in min I'm coming from a rubber dome keyboard, so I don't have any previous experience with mechanicals. I'm not used to floating the keys around the actuation point or anything when I game.

I thought that the only real problem with the Adesso was the dodgy keycaps? Or are the switches just really badly mounted?

I was set on the K90, but still seems like a meh reception. Maybe I should just get a Rosewill Red

Knowing your budget, you can't really go wrong with a Das Keyboard.

Why a Rosewill when you could get a Leupold or Filco? Unless you mean a different board to the RK9000.

Welp, canceled the mkb-135b and am instead getting the leopold tactile click "otaku" keyboard.
I should probably research my shit more but I'm bored in class and just want to buy something.

I went from a G19 to a Razer Black Widow... typing took 15 minutes to get used too.. and I play Bf3 at a comprtitive level and I havent noticed any non working keys... (the limits like 3 isnt it? back / strafe / reload).. idk

The keypress limit is hardware-dependent (in most cases, I think?). Keyboards connected with USB has an inherent key limit of 6 (unlike PS2) so they need to have some trickery in their firmware to detect more keypresses. It works on my K90 at least (20-key-rollover), are you sure it's just not an issue with the Razer drivers?

I'm using blues from a rubber dome keyboard it didn't take me long to get used to for the first day t write hurt a bit but now I can use it all day and not have any pain, gaming wise in able to play source games and various others without problem.. Only had this board for 1 and a bit days and I already love mech keyboards... Couldnt use a rubber done again me thinks

I agree. I love my mechanical at home and whenever I go to uni using the keyboards there is torture.

One combination that's problematic for me is thrust, afterburn, pitch up, and map zoom (W, leftshift, arrowdown, N). It really annoys me that I can't do that combo on this keyboard but I can on the G15.

6+2 modifiers is the maximum for USB I believe, however microsoft made that weird technology that almost acts as multiple keyboards for the sidewinder X4, it can go upto around 27 key presses I believe, which is enough or almost enough for analog on key presses, I think they recently released the technology to be used by other manufacturers too.

Alright I've got $110, thinking of getting a tenkeyless leopould, I want opinions. And I don't need any fancy macro keys, lights and flashy shit, just the keyboard and it can be tenkeyless or not my budget is $110 - shipping.

Unless you're in competitive competition, it doesn't matter, although reds and blacks are considered the best for games as they're linear, but again it doesn't matter unless you take your gaming way more seriously than you probably should if you're not getting paid for it.
Browns and blues are considered the best for all around experience, they feel great and sound just as good with browns being less high pitched.
And you'd be hard pressed to find better than a Leopold, they're a great choice.

Keep in mind reds are linear though, so there won't be the tactile bump mechanicals usually sought after for, it'll still be leagues ahead of rubber domes though, it'll just feel less click clock.
Browns are a good middle ground between gaymen and experience.

Allright, I made the plunge. I ordered a Filco Majestouch-2 with browns, the red esc key, and red WASD keycaps. I figured I'd go with the browns, since people seem to view them as a middle ground between gaming and typing, and since I've never had a proper keyboard before, I figured that would probably be the safest place to start.
Sadly though, Amazon says the estimated arrival date isn't until 24-30th this month.

I own an old (made before 1990, lists West Germany as country of origin) Cherry G80-3000 with whites inside them. They are clicky, tactile and it is orgasmic to type on them.

So I sold my G19 to a friend to get Razer Black Widow... Went to friends today, used his G19.. dont know how I ever used anything not mechanical.
The G19 was leagues ahead of most other rubber domes I've used, but jesus, compared the Black Widow.. Jesus I love mech. keyboards.

Could you guys help me pick a decent non expensive keyboard for gaming? With black/red CHERRY MX switches. I don't really care how it looks.
If it matters, I'm located in Europe and can order from pretty much any EU website.
