I take back everything I said about this crappy editor. It's allowed me to realize the absolute pinnacle of Portal 2 puzzle-dom:
Whenever I first go to the download list after addding or removing something from the workshop I crash. I have to let Portal crash once before getting into the game again to play.
Wow, the laser catchers are broken as fuck. They're flickering like crazy.
So yeah, one of my maps doesn't want to compile at all. I'll have to remake it.
What's sad is that I could fix it in two console commands. But the map is not writtable.
Where were the new Cave lines in the update?
Gotta test it out now :)
Whats the compiling error you guys are having? Is it going on forever on 100%? When that happens to me I just wait 3 minutes or so and it successfully compiles.
this DLC makes me very happy
it's just awesome everything about it (apart from all the bugs and compile errors), such a neat way to open up level creation to the masses
Is there any way to line an entire wall with lights or do I really have to do them one by one?
Does anyone know if packing custom assets into a BSP and uploading it to the Workshop works?
If so... well... idea time. :D
This editor could do with more items.
They need to add in crushers (among other things)
So I spent a few hours working on a map and it was turning out really nicely; I was doing the finishing touches.
Then I decided to alt tab and every time I go back it's just a black screen.
Finally, that horrible window I recognize from other games popped up:
portal2.exe has stopped working.
Do you people like to make an entire puzzle in one go and THEN test it, or do you do it bit by bit, testing as you go? I tend very much towards the latter, I spend more time compiling and testing than I do actually making the puzzle.
Although that could just be because the ones I've made so far are kind of basic and a bit rubbish.
Why would they make crushers co-op only. It's so retarded...
it makes sense in terms of canon since wheatley made the crushers
and this takes place years before that
Wheatley made the crushers? I thought there were some in that first acceleration gel chamber...
Er, wait. When was that? The one with the ramp and the crushers and the sliding about like a crazy person? Was that even in the game? I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE!
As with every map i plan to make, there is a rescuable companion cube worth bonus points (Rescuable does not include mandatory emancipation)
Its fairly simple, hence the name, but hopefully enjoyable
There's about 4,000 more published items for Portal 2 than Skyrim.
