Hello. My mom is opening a new business that sells stuff. General stuff and anything from vendors or whatever, on ebay/amazon/whatever. The name of the company is ApGot, there is no slogan or anything like that yet. If she ends up using one of the provided designs you get paid $100. Pretty simple. Here's a generic mock-up of what we're looking for:

the background shouldn't be white though.

Also the logo should be a vector or of pretty high resolution.

That said, you can do whatever, and come up with an original design and if we like it we will take it.

If you have a question or whatever post it and I'll answer it.

I'm actually interested to see what you all come up with. 100$ seems like a nice sum of money for just designing a logo :P

Does your mom have a website yet? If she does it might help the creative people round here to create something that fits the style of the website.

Well I can imagine the second one going fine for the website header or somesuch and the first one for downsized images wherever it'd be applied for use.

Wow, the similarities are pretty funny in a way, I didn't see yours until after.

    Edited:

Second version, NassimO's made me notice that I had used a ring instead of a thread. Didn't really look like a tag or shopping bags like I had imagined it.

some pretty neat contributions in here - you guys know there's a big market for this stuff, right? some businesses will pay upwards of $1000 for a clean, professional logo.

I had fun doing it, so I don't care too much what the pay is.

i like nassimo's but smeetin's is cool too. hopefully my mom likes one of them too. and ill ask her for the website tomorrow so you guys can get a better idea of what it should be like. i suppose if no better logo comes up in a week or so we'll pick from whatever selection is here.

    Edited:

something along the lines of this, but with the words changed to whatever words work for you:
im not a big fan of how the aspect ratio is so square. maybe do something like that but have each of the letters dropping down a square that contains a category like you have coming off the circle?

Ok I came up with this. Whats it need? Also any specific type of font? And you want it to look like a mountain? Also these are rough drafts, Tell me if you like the design or not and i'll continue from there.

gradients are a no no on logos. the text seems kinda small, i don't like how its encapsulated within the background image, it makes it a lot less prominent. also it needs some anti-aliasing, and if thats the max resolution of the image you have, then its kinda too small. i do like the mountain's silhouette.

    Edited:

i like smeetin's purple and yellow color scheme, but the logo/colors combined seem too similar to bestbuy? am i right on that? i feel like its walking a thin line, its still on the okay side probably though.

Can you give me more insight to what you meant when you said you didn't want the background to be white. Do you want it to be a certain color? Can you give me an image to represent what kind of style you want? Do you even like the basic look of the first one(With color and text moved)?

i personally like the black and white, but i can tell you for a fact that my mom wants it to be colorful. i don't really have any specific colors in mind for anything, nor style. it should be clean, memorable, and modern. i can't really explain it better than that. fontwise, i don't like the font you chose, i think the other entries had much better selection in that aspect.

    Edited:

that mockup was really if you have no idea at all. honestly i think its a bit generic, so if you have a better idea by all means go for it, like smeetin and nass did.

wouldn't "we got it" make more sence than "we have it"? i mean i know its kind of repeating itself and seems like the obvious choice, but people are stupid and i think its more memorable.

    Edited:

the second one is too busy, i feel like it would feel heavier and better if the products on it were more square ones without hollow screens.

Ya, I agree. It is very different from the best buy logo, which is only yellow and black, but it reminds me of it too. I'll make some other combinations, I was just going by the colours of the mock up you sent.

    Different Colours:

    Something a bit different, simpler:

do you think for this one you could get rid of "we got it" and change the tags to be horizontal? along with rotating the text, you get what i mean?
