But the wife is the spymaster.
Do the assassinations go through the spymaster I wonder. That would be quite a request.

I need to play another game of EU3. My most successful was as Bavaria. I ended up surviving several fucking horrid situations, including being the first country in Europe to become protestant after revolutionaries overpowered my main armies. I had EVERYONE breathing down my neck. France was looking at me, Austria was. All my Germanic brothers didn't want to have shit to do with me...So I stayed solitary and alone. I was in debt for years until finally the line of succession had a stroke of genius and produced a heir that wasn't a fucking idiot. I ended up extending into Holland, repairing my relations with the French and Austrians and eventually colonizing parts of Africa + helping in explore the New World as well as the East. I was the first nation to explore all the way to Japan.

I love EU3, I really do, I just spend too much time on it.

Historically some women would follow their husbands to war, and in some cases like Eleanor of Aquitaine actually gained some positions of power beyond what was normal. So I'd assume she just followed you King.

Playing as the USA in Victoria 2.

I banned slavery in 1866, and 20 years on in 1886 24% of the population (Including former slaves) wants slavery legal again.

    How do I amend this?

It's 1899 as the USA again.

My economic powerhouse is bankrupting all the other nations, and I can only keep up demand for goods by constant fort and railway building. 40% of my population are factory workers and I consume 90% of the worlds coal, I've lent all my banks money away and everybody minus me is bankrupt.

But I did badly in a war against revolution ruined Mexico. I literally used numbers to stop them.

I switched to the CSA and made slavery illegal the year after winning the war.

    Shit shit shit.

It's 1901, my economy has just gone plain out silly and exploded. When I researched Integral rail network every province had it under construction by 1899. 40% of my population works in factories.

Furthermore I supressed the pro-slavery movement. As a result it went from 30% to 15% pro-slavery, but then 900 rebel bridges of confederates, communists, anarchists and reactionaries are waiting in reserves and now my political system in the country polarised like fuck. The entirety of Hawaii got filled with Russian immigrants.

At the current rate, the entire fucking mess of a system is going to implode in 11 years.

Exactly why I'm playing as them. I'm bound to make horribly misguided or inefficient decisions. My only worry is that the insurance of power that would allow me to get away with that will only last so long.

Before you start time, ally as many as your vassals as possible. then:

Declare war on Burgundy on day 1 and nuke their starting army with yours, while producing troops at ever one of your core provinces. You can usually defeat Burgundy before the HRE Emperor arrives, then you can just attrition the hell out of the HRE armies into a white peace.

From there, you can either declare war on England, Brittany, or Provence.

For England, take all their provinces on the mainland, and nuke any army that lands. Keep their war exhaustion high enough, and they'll give you the provinces. Alternatively, demand on of the English non-cores, so you can peace, then invade the island itself after.

For Brittany, I personally like to annex them with 1 war, but if you have high infamy, take 1/2/3 of their provinces, then vassalize them.

For Provence, just invade the Italians.

Overall strategy as France...Expand, a lot. Or, you could try to vassalize the HRE electors, and get France as HRE's emperor. Then everything becomes retardedly easy. Do note, beware of the following: Burgundy if you destroy them asap, Austria (if they expand into Italy or becomes HRE's emperor), England (if you allow them to win the early wars), and Spain if you don't ally them. Bohemia usually doesn't become a pain due to their shitty economy.

    My strategy's result:

Notice that I have vassalized about 3/4 of Germany. You can diplo-vassal if you use your prestige well.

It's more annoying when the AI randomly pulls large armies out of their ass. In the French game I had, the English would always raise countless armies every single time I completely obliterate their main force. Sometimes I notice the English recruiting mercenaries more often than not.

I wish the AI would put inflation and deficits into consideration. The fact they always get loans without any problems is just plain ridiculous and outright unfair.

Personally I wouldn't go with this step. If you're not careful you could risk having your vassals annexed by the enemy during times of war. What I like to do is simply draw them into my sphere of influence for the extra boost in diplomacy(plays a large role in diplo-annexing).

Well, I conquered Dai Nam, expanded into South India, and just inherited Oman (who had conquered the majority of their neighbors)

What I don't like however, is the fact that I can't inherit their technology, but I can still build guns and cannons at their area.

Heh, I don't play with inflation. The inflation system is...annoying.

Vassals wise, I like to keep vassals allied as they can siege the enemies' provinces for you while you take on the enemies' main armies and utterly destroy them. When you have 30+ vassals, they can make quite the army too.

Talking so much EU3 makes me want to actually finish that French game, I stopped at around 1675, since there was few places left to take over...

Rest of the world at that time:

If you're trying to unify Italy, you're going to hate the HRE and Aragon.

If you're playing as Rome or one of the provinces of northern Italy, you might want to consider becoming an Imperial power for protection, as well as so the Emperor doesn't fucking invade you first chance he gets.
