The show AND the comic aren't about the Zombies, Yes sure they are there, but for the most part the show is trying to emphasize that the thing closest too you (PEOPLE) are the biggest threat. Nebraska (The Latest Episode) was a good example of that.

Need to find versions of these at that resolution:

God damn Dale's nostrils taking up 60% of the screen space all the time
When Shane was yelling at Dale and all Dale did was stare I actually laughed.
The show needs to work on making the characters better. Not necessarily more likeable(I'd prefer Dale and Andrea not being psychotic in the show though), but more like a love to hate, not a hate to watch. For now they need to balance more action and characters. In the comics, once I got to know all the characters, and after seeing them slowly lose their humanity, I prefer the human parts over zombie parts. Whenever I pick up the latest volume and start reading it, I'll think to myself "Ugh, more zombies, really? I wanna see what's happening with Rick and blah blah blah."
When and if the show gets the tv characters on par with the comic characters, then the "soap opera" episodes will be your favorite.
Welp, the apocalypse sure didn't change one thing: Women can't drive.

Hey guys, lets light up these TWO torches, right next to THE FUCKING GAS CAN
Yeah... currently it feels like a lot of the characters don't have enough redeeming qualities. I want less sitting around crying and having opinions on things, and more actual story development. Things like when Rick shot those two in the bar in the latest episode, that felt like the kind of shit that shows that he has a new attitude towards the world.
reading the comic now, not too far in but it looks like logic is actually being applied as opposed to unnecessary emotional bullshit.
there's lots of emotional bs in the comic too, but it isn't as exaggerated as in the series
~comic spoiler supreme~
Wow, didn't expect carl to shoot shane dead guess there are some clear differences between the show and the comic
What the living fuck parakon?
why post that here were half of us are brits and haven't seen it
why
it's a fucking comic spoiler, geez
Edited:
also, why did you click a spoiler without seeing the episode? you can't be fucking serious
Also it a spoiler from the comic, and we are long past that part because the show very different than the comic.
The comics just get better and better.
Because he posted a COMIC spoiler, not a show spoiler, and he didn't even give any warnings. If I click a spoiler here I expect it to be about the show, unless they write down something like "MAJOR COMIC SPOILER AHEAD!"
I just don't get why people can't understand this.
I assumed putting it in spoiler tags is enough of a warning, because ya'know, they're spoiler tags.
Besides that 2 posts up I clearly stated I was reading the comic. Still it blew my mind so I do feel bad.
You'd expect people to know that it's a comic spoiler, since he JUST SAID he was reading the comic.
Secondly, I don't think someone who didn't even watch the latest episode should be clicking spoilers.
Not to mention, it's a show that's based off a comic, you should expect this thread to have spoilers from both the show and the comic, and, again, I don't think someone who didn't even watch the last episode should be clicking any of these.
A+ logic you got there, bro
Everybody shut up. I don't even read this thread until I've seen all the episodes. I suggest you all do the same.
actually that's exactly what I'm talking about
I think the comic should have a separate thread for posting comments in, if you can't refrain from telling if your spoiler is from the tv show or from the comic. Seeing as this is the thread for the TV show, not the comic. I don't read spoilers until I've watched the episodes, but when people post comic spoilers without announcing it first it still fucking ruins shit for me sometimes.
or you could just not go around clicking every spoiler
or you guys could refrain from posting comic spoilers in the tv show thread
Edited:
or at least have common goddamn decency enough to clearly announce when it's a comic spoiler rather than a tv show spoiler in the goddamn tv show thread.
the show is directly based off the comic. as much as the series differ from it, a lot of stuff that happens in the comic will probably happen in the show, it makes sense to talk about both.
we could do that thing someone said once, about saying wheter it's a comic or show spoiler, but nobody who's a newcomer would do that
Girls, GIRLS!
Calm down, I love you both.
itt dale reaction faces
The only thing that comes to mind is

"Well..."
Gotta say I'm enjoying the comic way more than the show. Just seems more mature, and the characters feel real.
I read the first volume and thought it was pretty bad, the writing was meh, the pacing was really strange, eh I don't know, I'm sure the later issues are much better but that first volume doesn't make me want to continue with the comic series.
Even the artstyle gets better as they go on. The first one you can tell was a little amateur compared to the later ones, but the first volume was still better than the first season.
Well that makes sense because after the first volume, the artist for the series was changed and hasn't changed since.
Jesus christ it gets dark in the comic when they get to the prison, like fuck there's no way the show is even going to touch half of that shit, but who knows
I don't see how people get angry about the comic spoilers.
The show seems to be pretty loose about following the comic and even if I've clicked on every comic spoiler in the thread I'm still more than curious to see what they do in the show.
The part where (comic spoiler) After I read the part where the maniac killed the girls I couldn't even believe that I was reading the same comic. Seriously I spent whole night thinking about how much it changed in a few issues
Yeah I was actually wide-eyed and dumbstruck when I saw that.
Because some people are just starting to read the comics and don't want those spoiled as well.
Well if the moderators viewing this thread handed out 5 hour bans or something like that for not warning what context your spoiler is in, I'm sure people would learn pretty fast. Regardless, I'll drop this subject for now. It's kind of a downer.
