With the help of our friends at HumbleBundle.com, we are having a fun game jam weekend! By donating, you will be given the game created in the 60 hours (and maybe some other fun things too).

I always wondered why, since Notch was so supportive of it, Minecraft was never included in Humble Bundles.
Then I realized "Oh yeah, that'd require Notch to be humble". But if this recent venture was his idea I may redact that statement.

That's because he actually makes a profit, I really have never heard of most of these gams in recent bundles, with the exception of a few. And technically Minecraft was in a humble bundle.

A one week demo barely constitutes as 'in' the bundle.

To others:
Minecraft doesn't need the bundle because then it will bring all of its sales to a stand still. It will sell for an average of 1/5 the current price, about 300,000 copies (Since many indie enthusiasts already own minecraft) by my random guessing. Notch will get only a tiny bit of it because of other devs and charity. Then after people see that it has only costed others about $5, sales drop to a tenth of what they were before. Notch would kill minecraft sales if he did that. It would be stupid and end up worse in the end.

And besides, HIB is for indie games that wouldn't sell very well otherwise. In that respect, it has done an amazing job of giving indie devs lots of money and at the same time helping gamers find games. Charity is a nice bonus too.
