uh no lmao
opposite effect at least in my case
Meanwhile we've got indie games out the ass on PC, to a point where they're impossible to avoid. GET ON MY LEVEL MICROSOFT.
Meanwhile, on steam, indie games are given the same store pages, special deals, advertising and information as everyone else because "indie games" isn't treated as a subgenre on steam.
And yeah, I know it IS a genre on steam, but all the indie games are also part of all the other genres.
The thing is the indie games on steam are usually well-made to an extent. On the xbox, indie games are made in what would look like almost no time at all.
which is quite ironic seeing how it seems like it would be the other way around
Not really, Indie games on the xbox are used with XNA Game creator and people just spew their crap games onto the marketplace. For example this game was like $5
The only time you actually see GOOD indie games is on the xbl arcade section of the marketplace and those are indie games that could be considered full games (for $10 and such) such as Limbo, Monday Night Combat, Super Meat Boy, etc. etc.
The acceptance process for Steam is much stricter though (though less than XBLA).
The XBLI is more comparable to Desura on PC or the Android Market.
And then what not-so crappy indie games will have ham-sized pixel graphics, SID chiptunes, platforming mechanics, and some crazy stories with crazy twists to be "original."
Meanwhile in the Oceania region we don't see Indie games in the marketplace at all.
