it really doesn't have anything to focus on. i'm sorry but dude, it feels way too busy. you don't really distinguish foreground and background, and that makes it really flat. the perspective doesn't help either, the bridge is a mess!

i'm sorry if i sounded harsh, but dude, i'm being honest.

Why is everything in focus? And why is the womans face the thing that is most unfocused of all?

Maybe try drawing some dynamic looking landscapes at eye-level, and only afterwards think about how to place a character in the piece

I love the boat/rope/wood by the way. The girl is wonderful too. She's drawn without reference, right?

Good to see that bridge tilting fixed up. But why did you make her skin and the boat so much more orange? That's unhealthy and duller.

I also find the bridge to be ridiculously extended now, like it went from "yeah, that's a bridge" to "Who the fuck designed that?! That's impractical as hell."

I like it that you blued out the background making it look like it's actually at a distance, although, I have no idea why you cluttered it up by adding so many huts.

If all but the first 3/4 huts were removed it would look quite nicer.
By the way, I completely love your art and find it amazing.

I'm still not sure why but it still feels kinda flat. I think it might be the colors, they seem kinda washed out. Other than that it's incredibly well detailed.

I think the problem with her right foot is that there's barely any indication of foot arch, flat-footed almost. And there's no sign of an ankle bone. I think the foot should be more like this.

Flatness might be caused by some weird combination of viewpoints; we're looking down at the walkway, but the horizon line remains just above the centre of the canvas. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems to hit my eye the wrong way.

Glad to see some sharpness on her and the red tones brought back.

If you're going to fix the anatomy I would look into her outstretched foot, it looks quite gigantic. One of the main problems with it is that it ignores the relation between the Talus and Calcaneus. The whole foot almost merges into the leg rather than pronouncing the start and end of eachother with a bend.

To be fair people are continually suggesting things to fix, and if she (I'm assuming she because someone else said she at one point) had just gone straight through and finished the painting and then posted it, it would be too late to fix any issues really

Plus she made the sketchbook thread to do so with impunity

I concur that some sketches or quick paintings would be nice though

I might do some speed painting after this piece is done.

    Edited:

    In my opinion.

In speed paint, I'm able to grasp a new concept .
In progressive painting, I am able to fix errors I have accumulated.

I usually alternate between speed painting and progress painting, and I usually do speed painting with traditional media.
Real brushes are really easy to do texturing that is needed for speed painting.
I can change the texture the brush produces by changing the moisture of the brush.

I really find that smile... Retarded.

Also notice how you completely stopped it from leaning to the left side of her face. As if her whole head stopped right next to her nose. The nose holes are also visible in such a way that we are looking directly at her, no indication of her skewed tilt at all.

The smile pushes the jaw and cheeks and should give readable cheekbones. The nose visibly splits the nostrils in the middle since she tilts her head to her left, also notice how less visible they are, in your piece it is like we are looking straight up in them. The mouth always ends in a parallell line with the start of the eye with a normal expression (the < shape closest to the nose) and in the middle of the eye when smiling strongest.

It's odd that you have a figure-ground relationship in the form of a shadow, but not actually where the figure is touching the ground. It makes it look like she's floating.

Also I really have to say, the background and boat are freakin' awesome

It's absolutely more natural and relaxed, but you really need to take those things I pointed out into consideration next time you make poses like this, because there is a lot of fucked up shit going down with the mouth and nose. It's very anime flawed.
