Apperently the arebico message won't hit the star cluster it was aiming for, because we aimed for where it is now, now where it will be.

    I love that picture.
That's the kind of picture that gives you bragging rights on Facebook.

Is registax supposed to freeze when I select an AVI file? Is it because it's 350MB?

Also, I really dislike how the finderscope on the Astromaster 114EQ is useless.

Its more of a tech test, the Hercules Cluster is like 25,000 ly away by that time the message hit who knows what our descendants would be like. Totally alien to us today, and as alien as those who could hear it.

Actually I was looking at the Hercules cluster through my telescope, it was nothing more than a big fuzzy star but it's amazing to think that this

    is this

It makes me sad knowing that there could be millions of advanced civilizations out there that we will probably never meet simply due to shear distance. They're probably saying the same thing, too.

Hopefully if our space exploration continues, one day we will cross paths.

But for now lets look for life in our own little corner of the galaxy.

Finished my astronomy final exam today - are stars located in a galaxy's halo older or younger than stars on the disk? That was the one question I had to guess on.

    Wikipedia regarding Eta Carinae posted:
The nearest hypergiant is Eta Carinae, approximately 8,000 light-years distant [..] The similarity between Eta Carinae and SN 2006jc has led Stefan Immler of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center to suggest that Eta Carinae could explode in our lifetime, or even in the next few years.

Still on hold, everyone in the chat is saying "aborted" but they're fags, holds happen all the time I'm pretty sure, gives them more time to double check stuff.

EDIT: HAHAHAHA someone in the chat - "wow those four towers are lightning rods, yeah?"

I'm so keen to start an argument in the chat, but I couldn't be bothered making an account

This hold is annoying though, nobody is even talking any more, just silence

No they also said "Abort, aborting" in the comms on the stream.
Fuck. Didn't hear that. Hope they weren't referring to the whole test fire.

I've had a few people tell me that the ISS is fake as well.

And the Mercury and Gemini missions too.
