    Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152181

    Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211409

    no shit.
get a pro 3 gen 3 and an i3 2100 (2500k if you have enough money) or if you can wait until next month, ivy bridge will be coming out. The next generation of intel processors. You can see performance of the new chips, and if it's not enough to warrant you buying one of them, the sandy bridge prices will be down a bit.

I was just wondering where your amazing cognitive abilities came from is all. It takes a real genius to realise that it is impossible to buy an Intel chipset mobo.

No it really isn't. That died when Sandy Bridge launched a year ago.

Except an i3 2120 is pretty much better than most of AMD's line up whilst being a whole lot cheaper.

    My Suggestions

Get an AM3+ Board. The AM3 has abit of age on it. AM3+, as I recall, support AM3 as well. It shouldn't be that costy, and it will give you upgrade options for the future.

Your video card is alright, however I personally prefer EVGA. Their GTX 550Ti would also do you good for a little bit cheaper.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...146&CatId=3473 I'd also recommend going for 2x4GB instead of 2x2GB. Patriot has a 8GB pack for about $15 more, but you should be able to find the same thing with a brand of your choosing.

No. Buying into AMD CPUs is a mistake, and the 6870 is a much better purchase than the 550ti. Having upgrade options in the future doesn't mean much when that upgrade is AMD piledriver which will bring nothing but a 10-15% increase over Bulldozer. It'll do nothing against Ivy Bridge.

    Edited:

    no shit.

No new i3 chip launches with the i5 and i7 ones according to leaked price sheets. If he's buying in the i3 range an Ivy Bridge chip could keep him waiting until Q3 2012.
