So I've been having this problem lately where sometimes when I try to install something (most notably Tribes Ascend) I get an error message saying "DotNetInstaller has stopped working"

Now, I've removed and reinstalled my .Net Framework a few times now, both manually and with a .NetCleanup utility and nothing has worked.

Any ideas? This has been going on for months and It's really getting under my skin.

    Running them now,

Looks like I'm pretty far behind on updates. There's a security update on .Net Framework 3.5.1 that's been trying and failing to install since earlier this year. Maybe that's the problem

    Edited:

None of the updates worked, I received error codes 80073712 and 80070103

Downloading the System Update Readiness Tool from Microsoft's website in hope of fixing it. This better work, I'm getting really tired of all these problems.

    Nothing.

Windows update doesn't work, I've repaired Installshield hoping that would work, and even run System File Checker countless times but nothing's worked.

I really don't want to go through the trouble of reinstalling Windows 7. Please, does anyone know a solution?
