That ending is hilarious. Inception would be mindblowing if it wasn't so well known, but everyone knows it already. The first time I saw it my mind was blown though.

Donnie Darko I guess.
What.![]()
I do not know if you're serious, but I personally thought that the ending was funny because I had previously read the short story and knew where it was going up until he kills everyone, including his son. Then the military came and I thought it was so horrible and brilliant at the same time, I laughed.
Primer. You will watch the movie over and over.
The Green Mile, I cried. Amazing movie.
Forrest Gump, I cannot get enough of that movie.
take it from me. that "will" is dependent on the user.
i understood that shit first time through. it's still brilliantly intricate and inexplicit.
the thing that would throw people off i guess is the metric ton of techno babble
The assassination of Jesse James
Everything in it is just perfect for me. Especially the narrator.
Pfft.
"I understood it first time through" he says.
No you didn't. That's about all I can say. You may think you did. But you didn't.
With the help of infographics and 2hrs of attention, I think you could.
The Machinist.
The Prestige
Christian Bale was good in that but god damn I hated that film. It was too convoluted.
I recommend Jacob's Ladder, mostly because all of my other suggestions have already been said.
A Scanner Darkly maybe?
I just watched Primer...
My brain literally does not have enough computational power to understand what I just watched. I would need to sit down and draw a huge flow chart or something.
uhh yeah i understood it perfectly.
are you just jealous i actually paid attention throughout the movie?
what's so hard to understand about the plot? like seriously what do people specifically get hung up on?
Edited:
i'll admit i didn't understand the movie just like that. i'm fairly certain i had to ponder a few things but i did eventually get it completely after the first viewing.
no you didn't
explain the fungus.
A Scanner Darkly (the book is better, but the film is still good)
Edited:
I didn't find it convoluted at all, it was fairly simple really. I really liked it.
Edited:
Also I know that since it's technically anime Facepunch will eat my liver, but The End of Evangelion is quite something. You have to watch the series first (which is pretty mindblowing in its own right) but damn.
are you kidding?
Edited:
i mean they explain it in the movie, it's not a great leap.
the bacteria/fungus/whatever collected there as a result of just being inside the machine because that it would have taken like 5 days or something like that for that amount to accumulate. thus the giant leap. they put the watch in and discover time is not the same inside the box as it is on the outside while it's running
tis been a while and i've only actually watched it twice
WRONG.
If you rewatch the original scene where Abe supposedly shows Aaron the time machine for the first time, Aaron is subtly steering the conversation because he's already come back using the failsafe machine. He's afraid that minor changes in his behavior will result in the future occurring differently - he's hedging his bets to make sure that his information about the future is still valid. He got the calculation quickly because he had already performed it and is doing it from memory - Abe even points it out. Afterward when he's playing with the basketball, Aaron says "we can really publish" and Abe says something like "I never said anything". Aaron is really trying hard to steer events his way.
The fungus is another layer in his plan. The technician outright tells us that it's a joke, because it was a joke. Aaron put the fungus on the weeble so that Abe would have a plausible excuse to tell Aaron. It's clearly not actually the result of cycling back and forth all the time because otherwise the rest of the inside of the box would be coated with fungus as well.
never really thought about it like that.
still doesn't mean i don't understand the movie.
Edited:
push it and you'll continue to look like an asshole, seriously. don't act like i'm fucking bragging about it, it's not a nobel prize it's just a complex and inexplicit movie.
i think im gonna netflix this again. to bad it isn't on instant anymore.
there's just something so magical about watching this movie even if you don't pay attention.
that was my second viewing, i got really high and watched it for ambiance
Edited:
i don't like how tron legacy is on that list because the only good part about it is olivia wilde.
jeff bridges really isn't, i dunno why, as much as i love the guy he didn't bring much to the movie.
American History X
End of Evangelion
Alien
Aliens
Shawshank redemption.
I mean, a movie ending does'nt get any better than that!
in bruges (dark humor with a great ending involving murder, midgets, and exploding bullets)
watchmen extended (made me well up with a myriad of emotion after the last scene)
hard candy (give it a chance, i know its a little slow)
Everything got too weird too fast, loads of new stuff suddenly popping up with little to no explanation. And in the end you're just left wondering what just happened.
I was really disappointed with it.
hard candy can be annoying because there really isn't a protagonist in the move
juno is a complete bitch and possibly a serial killer, nite owl is a pedo, who the fuck can i relate to?
It was a better ending than the original episode
Have you seen the rebuild
Only the first part.
The second one is a lot better, I suggest you watch it
The first one was just a remake of the first, I dunno, 5 or 6 episodes with a couple new scenes
2.0 veers completely away from the original plot, It's my kind of Evangelion, I love it
3.0 coming out sooooon
Also in relation to EoE I think you're being unfair
ofc I'm biased because Evangelion is without a doubt my favourite thing, but the first half the movie was great.
Asuka's last stand
The JSSDF invasion of Nerv headquarters
Come on man, both of those, especially the JSSDF invasion are the highlights of Evangelion imo
I must've memorized a bunch of lines from the invasion because I watched it so much
"All non combat personnel avoid engaging the enemy. These guys are pros, so if you can't get to terminal dogma you're better off just surrendering."
Catch me if you can
Requiem for a dream, I love that film.
I'm also watching "The Game" it's interesting as fuck.
Donnie Darko
The Shawshank Redemption
I think somebody said it already, but still, see it if you haven't. It's brilliant.
That cartoon titanic musical with the rapping dog that I forget the name of
It is mindblowingly awful.
Thank you so much for recommending this. I had never heard of it before. It was really amazing. It stayed with me for days after I saw it.
it really made me like daydream in blue again by i monster even after lupe fiasco murdered it as he does with all songs he rips off.
well that's the remix to the old song, but it's a lot better than the old song.
and mr nobody is equivalent to eternal sunshine of the spotless mind in my book. and that's pgod damn high.
I'm seconding Dark City.
That movie is so good.
