Ok, we will let you know when it's F2P, many years from now. Check out 1.2 before you have that attitude about SWTOR.

I liked the leveling but there was absolutely nothing to goddamn do at endgame.

If it was just a $60 game I'd think it would be more successful.

We shouldn't have had to wait 2 patches for content that should have been in at launch.

They pushed the release date too close. Needed to make money on the massive investment they made. Should have waited until this year to launch.

I love it. It's a lot of fun, especially when playing with friends, the only problem is...

...people who don't realize that the game's real meat is in the leveling. After all, it's entirely story based. When I max my current character out, sure I'll do a bunch of endgame stuff with friends, but after I've had some fun with that I'm going straight into making a new character to experience their story too.

If the game should be played only leveling then it shouldn't have a monthly fee.

    Edited:

Also yeah experience that other story that's 2 hours of class story and another few dozen hours of exactly what you just did on the last guy. After leveling on Imperial I have absolutely no desire to level another.

Old Republic was a really fun game...up to the point I ended up playing it like a RPG and not a MMO. There's like NO ONE on most planets.

My point was sort of it will never go free to play. I never GOT to endgame considering the server I played had about 20 people at the hub world on a Saturday night. Poor, poor server organization. 1.2 doesn't offer much for me honestly. I can "mildly" customize the UI. Otherwise nothing holds me to playing it. I stopped playing soon into I think chapter one ? Around level 35. I had to go planet to planet literally 8+ times. Combine that with no form of quick travel = 1 1/2 hours of walking, talking to a guy and him telling me to go back where I just was. DOES NO ONE HAVE FUCKING SATELLITE COMMUNICATION ? FUCK.

No form of quick travel? How about the Quick Travel ability which you can use with every bind point on the planet?

There's also sprint at level one, speeders (which you can use in spaceports and tunnels now) and fleet passes. Dunno what game you were playing.

You shouldn't be playing MMOs if you get bored while traveling. Keyword: Massive.

If you get bored while traveling then it's usually because the developers failed at making an interesting game world. That or you have to travel the same route constantly.

I'm not saying that TOR has this problem but it's a pretty typical problem in a lot of MMOs.

Wow, there are two types of SWTOR complainers. Ones who played the game for less than a month and bases their opinion of the game off of the condition of it then. Then the person who is complaining about the stupidest things that don't make a difference, or complaining about something that already has a solution and is mad because he didn't take the time to learn that.

You know what people I find even more annoying? Those people who have their head so far up TOR and Bioware's butt that they can't take anyone's criticism and shove off anyone's complaints as invalid.

Some of the planets have their boring moments. They're always "pretty" to look at, but sometimes you just really want to get to the next quest, you know? I don't think that's just a problem with TOR though... most MMOs tend to go over board with open or empty spaces. TOR also makes a few quality of life changes compared to most MMOs. Like I mentioned, Quick Travel can access all the bind points you've found, rather than only the last one you used.

There are some moments where you're forced to back track, or when you're tired of driving your speeder around, but I think it's more attributed to "Man I really want to see how this quest ends" moreso than "Wow this game is boring". I've never really felt the latter.

On topic, 1.2 was a great patch for content, bug fixes and even balancing. PVP still needs a bit of tweaking before they get it "right", but they're well on track to having something great.

There are extreme examples on both sides. I wish people would just try the game for themselves. Some complaints I hear are valid, some stopped being valid months ago, and some were never so.

It's a fun game and I'm happy with the purchase... they're listening to feedback, adding some cool content, and have plans to add more. There are some changes I wish they would make, but I'm still happy with the game.

How do you know how long it took me to get to 35 ? 1. I know about quicktravels but they literally didn't exist for the route I took. 2. Time is a difference. Maybe I don't have 20 hours a day of my life to fucking walk to the same person 5 to 6 times within 10 missions.

Yes, I understand quicktravels exist. Quicktravels that are USEFUL on the home planet ( I don't remember the name of it, the planet with your captain/commander ), no, those don't exist. 5 minutes on a speeder ? That's just stupid. I had to do that at least 5 or 6 times in a damn row. Why is that acceptable in gameplay ? They ask me to travel to talk to someone in bumfuck egypt, then report to my ship, then go to another planet, then return to the person I just talked to on that other planet, back to my ship again, etc.

I want to play the game but I don't have a lot of time to play it. If I spent 30 minutes a day it would be my dailies only, if that. The days I did spend a large amount of time playing, I felt like it was 75% talking, 20% communicating with people ( Which I'm okay with, it's lots of story ), and 5% gameplay.

Technically it did kill KOTOR 3, but they managed to fit everything that would have been in KOTOR 3 into an MMO full of all kinds of other content.

I was bitter about this too, and honestly had no idea the story would continue into the MMO until I purchased it and played it. They tied things up pretty nicely. Not to mention that's done on the side, and you still have your own adventure to play.

At least they gave it an ending. It was starting to look like it would end up like Shenmue 2.

Sorry that you had a bad experience. I've never had problems with QT, and I've never spent 5 minutes just driving around, with nothing in between. The rest of your complaints sound exaggerated. Quick Travel isn't supposed to bring you straight to your destination. You're not always going to be able to travel from Point A to Point B instantly.

All MMOs are a time investment. If all you can spare is thirty minutes a day, they're probably not for you. One of the fastest starting planets (level 1-10) is Korriban, and that takes about an hour and a half to two hours to finish.

Yes, because enjoying SWTOR means I have my head up Bioware's ass. No, there are many valid complaints that can I share with many of you. It's the stupid things things that don't make a difference, or because the game sucks because they don't have enough time to invest in it, or when they complain about stuff that is no longer the case.
