I'd say "trolling the trolls" is giving Ghost too much credit. He most likely started his show to make money off of ad revenue and found that trolls made up the majority of his viewers, then started encouraging them. Some of the trolls don't really care, but a very large number of them have no doubt that Ghost is for real. Some are so stupid they can't even figure out that Ghost and the Engineer are the same person.

certain things just don't add up, like the fact he is supposed to be some hick but, right from the start, his knowledge of shit memes and internet lingo was way too broad. when the trolls moved on to calling him a jew, he did one of his fits of rage and put on what would be called a stereotyped jewish voice... and it was a perfect impression of mort goldman (see the link above)
