Does the mac mini even have its own dedicated VRAM? I thought Intel's HD graphics just allocated some of the system RAM for the onboard graphics.

He even said he hasn't tried any high-end games and is just over estimating the HD3000.

It shares with system memory.

Depending on the model it uses 288mb if it's the low-end model or 384mb if it's the server model. The high-end model uses a 6630 with 256mb of ram which I can't seem to find if it's dedicated or shared, I assume it's shared though.

There's really no reason why it should be more expensive than the 2500K either. As Intel said, it's a tick, and the only thing that has substantially improved is the GPU.

Actually, I'm considering the GTX690 afterall. It's 200 less than I spent on my cards and probably 40-50% faster. Less ram, but HardOCP showed it has no effect even at triple 1080p. I think I'd like to have a single card, rather than dual cards.

I don't think Nvidia is going to put two GTX685's on a board though.
