Played a matched game with a friend where the rest of our team were assholes. I played as Veigar, and I admittedly didn't do super good (laned against Ashe. the harass, it burned) Our chat was literally full of "Shaco Nunu noob" and "veigar terrible go back to AI" it was a circlejerk of hate where everyone but me and my friend was an ass. We lost, 'course. The enemy team was a better than us, and the fighting didn't help at all. Seriously the hate started in the first two minutes where I was called a retard for not buying a Doran's ring.

And that brings me to the next point; how to get better as Veigar, or really just generally? Practice practice and play, I'd assume.

As well, how to lane against a harass heavy champ like Ashe? AS far as I know, stay behind minions to block her volley, but I found that it was easy for her to run forward, get an autoattack in, and I could do nothing.

I don't see why Veigar would actually need a dorans over sustain(assuming you went boots/pots), especially against Ashe, except for the AP because of Veigar's passive.

RoA is good on veigar. You can get it after dfg or deathcap when you need extra survivability.

Rod is an okay item for Veigar. Veigar's all about killing them before they kill you, so it's purely for the "I want to die in 2 seconds as opposed to 1 second" ability, if you think about it.

Varus is ridiculous; I recently got done playing a game with my friend and he can go ap or ad and do insane amounts of damage regardless.

Yes we were stupidly farmed and I had no MR but that doesn't really mean much for the damage.
I lost all my health from his ult. If that was to hit the majority, or all of the enemy team, since it applies the same damage to all enemies, it would insta-gib squishies,
