A CONTROVERSIAL new video game that lets players assassinate Adolf Hitler and shows graphic, "X-ray" footage of bullets tearing through people will be in the hands of Australian kids by Friday.

Just days before Sniper Elite V2 is released to the public it has been branded as "sick" by the Australian Christian Lobby.

Jim Wallace, of the Australian Christian Lobby, said the context of the violence was "rubbish" and the game should have been refused classification.

The Classification Board found the World War II setting of the title and its focus on "stealth techniques in the context of an historical war setting" meant the game could be rated MA15+.

I really hate saying this, but most of the people who say that are from the older generations, the ones who look at a game for 12 seconds, and without understanding, say that it's going to send the kids into violent, columbine style shootings.

I honestly think we need to educate parents on what is right/wrong for their children and to enforce that they have the power to legally restrict them from upholding and acquiring movies, books, TV shows, video game, music and websites because it's the parents given right to protect their children from unsuitable content that they may not understand at a young age.

My parents did that and they slowly relaxed most of the things I could do as I was growing up so to me it's a more suitable way to handle this.

What I don't support is parents wanting the government to babysit their children because they "have no control", yes you have control you just don't enforce it well enough.

It's hard to believe some parents nowadays are so stupid at this, the government shouldn't be doing this, they should help you learn how to enforce these barriers so that they can properly handle what is suitable and what is not.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think WW2 would be the about best context for shooting a rifle at strangers, considering it had record high levels of it throughout the whole thing.
