They should block Google while they're at it.
Virtually the same thing anyway.
Well guess you gotta use proxies now.
That or change your DNS settings.
I dont use the pirate bay however if they got this through... whats next....
They should just approve SOPA while they're at-.. Wait no no, nononono.
right because blocking one torrent tracker is going to stop piracy
aka just morons legislating things they have no idea about as usual
Here in Denmark, The Pirate Bay was blocked by most ISPs, but it has worked for me without a custom DNS ever since they changed to .se![]()
Hello OpenDNS.
Hooray for Google DNS.
The Pirate Bay is breaching copyright on a massive scale? Oh, so if google tells me where I can get the full version of a song for free without purchase, doesn't that make google just as bad?
Fucking hate the government, why must they ruin everything?
because they have no idea what they're doing when it comes to internet related matters.
Here (the Netherlands) they also block the IP's next to the domains. BREIN even threatens the proxy's that only do TPB.
Woo! No piracy ever again guys!
Why isn't BT on that list of ISP's that need to block it?
because the government and every other government spreads its arse cheeks to corporations for £$£$£$
then what the fuck is they doing' with the money they're taking from you
is it just "lol thx for the money but i don't really give a shit about you"

Here you go, what are you going to do now UK?
This is what I found in 1 minute and there were like 40 other proxies there.
What does this achieve exactly?
A: nothing
Related to my post, why won't the government give a shit about more important things than a few law breaches, such as why the fuck we're still at war with multiple countries, and why haven't still sorted most third world countries?
My ISP isn't even on there. Fuck yeah.
Who's your ISP?
it's easier for them to restrict the internet than it is to actually do anything that matters
I may not agree with the ruling but I think this is the only somewhat acceptable way to go about it - a court case is much better than the government just being able to shut down sites as they please
Things like this are getting easy results that look good on paper. In France you have the three strikes and your out laws on piracy. Statistics show a huge drop in piracy, but if you ask around everyone and there dog uses a VPN to download now.
I originally had O2, but found out they weren't giving my the speed I was paying for so I ditched it for Tesco Broadband. Which is surprisingly very good.
Actually there's just a drop of direct downloads, but quite a boost of torrent downloads
it evens out, the HADOPI law did jack shit
BT is already blocking it, or should be.
They were forced into doing it back in 08.
Oh just FUCK OFF BPI. No one fucking cares about you.
Is that how they're gonna block it? That's terrible haha
DNS level blocking is the only option these idiots know.
Or its the only option someone with half a brain is giving them.
That's how the newzbin block works currently so I'm guessing so. It's really dumb yeah but don't let the politicians know that!
"Sky"
Fuck.
We will be able to use TOR to get on it, if it happens, right?
8.8.8.8![]()
Oh god, now they're also doing it in the UK?
They really have to see it won't help.
They can block sites, proxies, detours, whatever they want, but pirates will find their ways around.
The only thing they're doing is delaying them, and it even affects people who have nothing to do with this.
They are just driving the pirates into IRC chats and stuff. And if they're gonna block IRC servers aswell, (which isn't even possible, pirates would make their own connections,) they're heavily affecting normal people using IRC, putting blocks everywhere.
Time to show them it just. won't. help.
It's just a DNS block.
-automerge :(-
Yet more curtailing of our liberties and the freedom of information (not the act...)
Oh well, welcome to the fucking UK Inc. Corporatocracy
I really don't understand why the entertainment industry can't just accept that the playing field is changing and try to offer something that gives more to paying customers instead of getting in bed with the government and attempting to coerce them into interfering with a free market.
Finally. I don't know why you people think it's such a horrible thing when sites like this are destroying media companies and the internet. You would have no problem if there was a house being used to create and distribute counterfeit DVDs etc, and that got raided - so why is it so different when it's online instead?
It's unreasonable to think that it should go on without intervention especially since you know it's illegal anyway.
Put up with it and buy things instead.
What about BT?
How much of the money really goes to the artist anyway? The artists I listen to mostly don't use marketing and advertising yet they still get barely anything even if their records sell well.
Can someone please explain to me how it does this?
