You see, I do love it but it seems for me to just be an expensive toy and im unsure i will have even a use for it even at University.

I heard Apple have a 30 day return policy meaning I have a week and a bit left, but I want to get a refund and put money towards a macbook pro, so I have access to a mac away from university and so I can continue to use Motion and Final Cut Pro.

How would I go about getting a refund, would I need an excuse? All I know is that I can't fit the new ipad into my daily life and I am a media student so a macbook pro would be perfect for me. I have some money a side too.

The nice people at Apple let me have a full 480 refund, 10 days after the 14

i never returned an item back to apple stores but assuming your 30 day return policy is true, go to the store, explain that you purchased it in the heat of the moment and regretted it and would like to have a refund. Stress that the ipad 3 is in perfect condition and you would like to purchase a mbp after the refund. Be courteous.

Can't find the receipt and I think its 14 days, not 30. I will try and list it on Amazon, if not then fair enough. It's not as if I hate it, I think its great. Just having access to final cut pro on the go as i am filming appeals greatly! I havent used this too much, kept in a case, no scratches so i'm listing for 460.

Didn't they ask you if you wanted the receipt emailed to you? At least that was for me when I bought mine today.

I'd say go and try it. Like we said earlier, make sure to tell them it's still in good condition and that you're planning to use the money for another Apple product.

You're right, they did. Saved me a lot of hassle. I phoned them and they said bring it in and they will check.

    Edited:

Yeah, you see I am wanting a Macbook Pro, however I've decided to go for the 15" instead of 13" as it will prove more useful. But to do that, I can't buy it on the day. I will have to wait for the remaining money at the end of the month to buy it.

I just hope they don't give me a gift card as I need some cash to tie me over until the end of that month.

    Edited:

In addition, are there any restocking fees in the UK?

Saying stuff like 'i wanna return this because i'm not satisfied BUT i'll use the money to buy another one of your products' usually goes down pretty well with most retailers.

Yeah, I went with saying that I was supposed to return it but "I was on a work placement in Birmingham so missed the 14 days". Then went on to saying how excellent the iPad was but as a media student, waiting on the new macbook pro's would be ideal.

They may have high prices, but for quality products and customer service, it's worth it.

Some of the geniuses are so far up their own asses though.

I hear of many people having to escalate to the manager when trying to get a simple replacement for something defective..

    I'm calling bullshit.

I haven't heard any horror stories from anyone I know who's gone to an Apple store.

I don't think they're exactly far up their asses. I just believe they market them as if they know everything.
