Because it's motivating valve to keep doing it, I don't particularly care what they do with their money, just the choices they make with it. They can burn it all in a fire, but is it a smart choice? NO. It's their money though, so I can't just tell them "DON'T DO THAT" and expect them to listen. I'm just saying, promos make the game look bad because you have players who just bought it for the hat playing it, who don't make an effort at getting better at it, and actually dedicate time to doing what they're supposed to. It's just a good idea to try and promote lesser known games, but doing it in a way like "free hat if u plai tis gayme" is a bad way to execute it.

I didn't even notice the pyro skin, lol. Skins are a different story, a lot of them don't do any justice to the weapons they're skinning. It can be argued that is one of them..

The fact that the achievements cannot be obtained with SAM is a step in the right direction. It actually ensures that people play the game. Those that get drawn into the game stay with the game, those that don't will just leave.

Agreed to that. I noticed a lot less comments about SAM whenever a promo comes out. Another step in the right direction would be somehow making the hats attainable by doing more interesting things related to the game. SMNC did that, kind of. It takes quite a bit of time to reach level 20 for the pyro hat. Admittely, I downloaded this because the pyro hat seemed cool, and I had a little bit of experience from playing MNC and it was pretty fun, so I downloaded it. I got addicted after my first 5 minutes of playing. People need to give games a try and NOT buy them because some promo came out for it. It's great that they're promoting F2P games too. SMNC isn't as known as tf2 so god knows why they went f2p in the first place. Their only source of income from it now is store-bought items, and they seem to be convincing people to buy items a lot since it's easier to buy a pro than play a few days for one.

Yeah, when those Sam & Max promo hats first came out, it really ground my gears to see people shelling out money for a game they will never install, let alone play, just for a little hat that didn't even exist.

What made it worse is that I love Sam & Max, and Telltale in general.

I don't mind the hats in TF2 and like them a lot myself, but god damn.

Also: play SMNC. I've been playing it since before the promos, it's almost as addictive and fun as TF2.

If I am not mistaken, when the cow mangler was painted, the lasers became the color of that paint.

It's cool to come across a game developer, but calling them (or anyone) shit at games isn't. I'm not going to start hating you forever or anything because everyone says something stupid every now and then.

Couldn't agree more, you're never not doing anything, everything is so cluttered, and the weird thing is IT WORKS. With so much shit going on, you'd think a big map would be great, but small maps work very well.
