I just seen a server using para_mars. Only para_spaceship V4 is working with this version !
If you use an another map weapons won't spawn at the beginning of each round. So there won't be any weapons.
EDIT : Bug found : An human get an alien weapon at the choice. I'll be fixing it (hopefully).
i may have fixed it , but before an hotfix i would like to test.

New update . Not tested online but it can't add new bugs. New melee system (easier to hit). The possibility for the dual alien bug of having been fixed.
New update again. Easier to hit as alien and the use of info_player_deathmatch should solve stucking problems.

You NEED to add lag compensation to both the firearms and the melee attacks of this gamemode, to make combat sharper and better. Details about how can be found here: http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/s...d.php?t=286697 . Right now, it's hell trying to attack anyone if your ping is above 100.

In the first minute , players can kill eachtother without respawning as alien or in the jail.
Also , the lag compensation thing.
I think because this is a game mode based on The Thing you should have a blood hypo test that you could use on players to see if they are human or alien. One thing is that they are rare to find there not just lying on the ground everywhere.

You have to make zombies unable to attack 'true' aliens - or, remove zombies all together. They ruin the atmosphere.
Can you make chat like, local? Non-global chat? Because it's really damn annoying when people yell "HEY, THAT GUY IS THE PARASITE!" Yea.

Working on the maps , adding a new feature , the robot : A player reprogrammable both by aliens and humans.
As an example of the changes being made to the map : Lasers traps. An airduct providing a way to escape for players cornered at the shower...

No , finally , this map don't fit with parasite's gameplay , but the concept of fast map adaptating still stand.
This MOD Is excellent, My favorite zombie mod by far.
Nice to see you finally are adding more features such as vents. You should have more that go through the cielings, to allow more approaches to for aliens and humans.
Ex: An alien can hide in the vents in alien form waiting for someone to pass by. When someone does, the alien can drop down for an attack. Another example is for humans. They can sit up there and watch people who go by in case someone turns into the alien there.
You should also do local chat, no global chat at all. This means that people can't go around doing the "I saw him verify, he's clean." system. I don't know if you were still on the server we played on together when people were doing this, but if you weren't, it implied that people would go to need stations and wait for someone else to get there before they fulfilled the need, so that the other person could say that they weren't the alien. It would go from humans being the hunted, to being the hunters.
Dim the lights while they are on. It hurts my eyes to walk in those halls sometimes, but also provides less than appealing atmosphere. Make it darker, add some creepy decals and such, add in props, and add in creepy back ground noises. The game has a clear emphasis on making people afraid to be alone and to be afraid of the shadows, corners, and the dark, but you don't have enough in there to do that. Sure the alien can turn the lights out, but someone can just turn them back on. If it's dim and some lights are off, or are flickering, people will be more afraid. If you have crates, barrels, carts, and other such stuff around, the alien can hide there to wait for people to go by so they can attack them, and humans can hide there in fear. The atmosphere makes the game a lot more interesting.

For the chat , sure it needs a way for alien to communicate in their team.

Sometimes aliens get stuck if they are alienifeid by another player.
Changelog for the next version (it should be released next week hopefully) :
- A player is selected at the beginning to become the robot. The robot has no need and receive 4 less damages from alien spawns. He can be reprogramated both by aliens and human.
When reprogramated by an alien , he needs to kill humans to survive.
- Alien spawns can now sprint for a very short period, at the cost of their HP.
- Alien hosts can teleport over a short distance.
- Humans can become invulnerable to aliens attacks and run faster for a short period at the cost of their HP.
-New weapons /anti-alien-tk system by Devenger.
-Humans needs to duck to use iron-sight.
-Changes made to the map.

It's an ingenious gamemode. I was playing it with Rabidtoaster a couple of hours ago. It's very fun, but hard. It also makes you distrust everyone :D
Here's a little update fpr server admins willing to test some features of the new version.
Because for the moment the main server is running a bugged custom version (no tk punishment , zombies with weapons...). I think weapons is a bad idea since they are too accurate at first shot and too inaccurate then.
I've been being a sneaky motherfucker. I was the alien host, and i took a medkit from the medibay. I had someone come to the toilets with me, but first i made sure i was injured. When i entered the toilet, i got out my medkit and used it, so my character said 'yeah'. The guy thought i was human so i got him while he was typing >:D

Copy para_cust folder to material folder of garrysmod.
In order to have them working for people who download the map, you need to use pakrat to pack them into the bsp. But since you are at the beginning of your map creation, ignore this for the moment.

If i t happen again after you restard hammer try to put the vtf in the material directory , and not in para-cust (only the vtf , not the vmt).
is this normal (no icon) ?

The obsolete icon? That indicates it's not a standard entity within Hammer. If it's got the right settings, it should run just fine in the gamemode, as the mode itself will translate the item.
