Anyone of you US guys know when Book 7 is released?
hey i'm playing on Evernight. (EU version) And will be happy to help any newstarters up.
I have currently a level 60 champ and a level 28 Burglar.
Also any clue on book 7 release?
Highfive on my fellow 60 champ! Got any nice parts for the radiance armour? Only got the shoulders and they aren't even worth changing my current (purple axe handler) piece.
Last week I finally managed to get my BA to rank 7 and gain the infamous Vital Target. Then my boner was killed after I heard about an RK that just got rank 10. :(
Nice, and ouch.
I though lotro had way better graphics o.O
Well compairing top settings to other MMOs, i find the graphics fine if not better than most.
lol, I guess you're right. I've been playing aoc for a while now. So my standards are high >.<
Yea, I did play it some time too it was really great! But I stopped playing it for the same reson that I stopped play World of Warcraft!
1: Costs per months!
2: I often get bored of it quick.
3: I'm not much of a level raiser, I have never been! Even when I played WoW I was not level nerding.
I was most of the time gathering money to my "Pension"! :D I thought about making a small farm to rent (like the living houses you can rent) and build up some kind of farming group and live there the rest of the game.
I just started the 10 day trial. I made an awesome hobbit burglar!!! It's only level 7 at the moment, and I just arrived at the Shire.
On my computer, I can run everything on ultra high, so the games graphics look awesome. Though I think the UI is a bit, I don't know.. And the fonts are not to my taste. But I bet you can change that with mods and stuff.
http://www.lotrointerface.com/
And there's a lot you can do in options > UI.
Heh, thanks! I also find that the LOD draw distance or whatever is a bit distracting to ^^ But the graphics more than make up for that.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's when the trees/other things change, like an extra branch pops up or they move sort of thing.. But thats a problem I think every open rpg has, so no complaints.
(Oh and I figured out burglar wasn't for me :( Though I really liked The Shire, I decided to make a woman Captain instead :D)
Captains are great! They're fairly easy to play compared to burglars. They can get some insane DPS if they pick the right traits.
Yeahhh dunno what those are, or when I start using them >.> I just hit 10 on the captain yesterday night and am about to start questing again. I got some destiny points, and read up on them so I got a vague idea of what they can do.. I think I might use them to make my leveling process speed up haha :D
I'm really liking the buffs captains provide so far, along with their solid damage. Can't wait till you get pets or whatever.. and when I can start using heavy armor!
Might try out Monster Play to (I think trials are allowed to use it..) since I just unlocked it.
You should have your pet/summon by now. :D It was either level 10 or 11.
And the buffs can be insane. With the right setup you can increase critical ratings by 1100.
And yeah, monster play should work.
Well haven't got much time to play for a little while, so I'm only 13.. But atleast I got my pet now. And he's awesome. I love the idea of a guy running around following me with a banner lol
Still need to try out monster play >.> I got like 4 days left on my trial, so I'll need to try and fit in 20 quick. by this point, I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the game. So far it's been awesome.
Bump because I got back into this. I have a 38 hunter named Algdir on Brandywine.
I look pretty good, if I say so myself.
Nice. I like the colours on your armour.
I just completely ruined my black heavy set with some shining red boots. Looks ridiculous!
Haha.
Also, anyone know some good recipes I should look into for an artisan tailor?
I can make some pretty great stuff, but a lot of it requires crazy crystals that I can never get my hands on for a reasonable price. Excluding that stuff, the rest of the armor I can currently make is average, so the equipment I'm using is much better.
About to start my 10-day trial. :]
I'm not a tailor myself, but I think you will make something called "radiant" armour later on for 45+ characters, and they're pretty damn sweet.
And I'm guessing you're talking about Beryl Shards or Adamant shards. Here's a list on where to get those shards.

Have fun. :>
I just got the game about 2 weeks ago, I'm really into the Lord of the Rings books and movies(though definitely not as good as the books).
I play on the Brandywine Server and I have a level 24:( dwarf guardian named Gerinian.
You must admit that the game is a tad bit more canon than the movies.![]()
I play on Brandywine, too.
We need a Facepunch kinship somewhere.
Also, thanks for that list of where to get the Adamant shards, I'll be in the Trollshaws anyways so I could pick one up.
EDIT:
but it looks like everything on that list is a rare mob :C
Yeah the game adds a lot more depth to the movies, I mean Tom (w/e his last name is) the guy who is in 'charge' of the Old Forest is not even mentioned in the movies. And it adds Angmar, duh, which they never really talk about in the movies.
Isn't Lotro more based off the books than the movies?
And the story only goes up to the Fellowship of the Ring, including the Hobbit.
Well I'm not very far into the game yet, I'm not sure.
Different topic: I wish more people on Facepunch played Lotro, it gets boring when theres not very man people posting.
Hey, if you guys want I can setup a Facepunch kinship. I'm a level 26 Captain in Brandywine.
I'm a level 39 Hunter on Brandywine.
but i'm poor :c
I'd join with an alt or two if it wasn't for me playing on the EU version of the game.
They don't have the license for Silmarillion yet. But they try to include everything that is mentioned. Fornost and Forochel for example.
We'd need at least 6 people to keep it going.
And even if it is a facepunch kinship, well I'd call it something different, The Legion of Facepunch really doesn't fit to well.
Edit: I'll start a thread to see if we can get enough people for the kinship.
You can always fill the amount of needed members with alts. That's what me and 4 other friends did when we started hobbit alts on Laurelin and made our own kin.
By the by, if you need money, turn to your craft skills!
A forester can pump out a full stack of treated leather for bunches of money. Of course, you'll need 100 hides.
A prospector can also smelt a stack of ore for sale that goes for a LOT of money.
Im thinking of starting this again, It whas pretty fun but all my friends played WoW.
Me and a few others have just started playing this, although just on the trial we're planning to start paying around the 5th of august. Were on the EU client in snowbourn.
Welcome back week (EU I guess)
I've been wanting to retry Lotro for awhile but I hope the welcome back week includes the expansion...
Is the combat anything like D&DO. I'm only asking because it's made by the same company. I like the combat in D&D online. It's fun. You know what, I think I'm gonna try to trial now. For LoTRO, I mean.
Nope
Fucking sweet. Worthy of the bump, by the way.Turbine posted:
