    Yeah, he's just a prick.

You're darn determined, choie. Good on ya. Sucks that they didn't reply, at least to say thanks, but no.
Actually no, I was referring to the other person who made a music video to try and get employed by valve this person:

    hence the chin comment

also it's rich coming from you to call someone a prick

I'm glad that you've got a reply from the man himself.

Last week I've submitted this model to the TF2 contribute site and mailed Gabe about it. Explaining the idea behind the model and how awesome he is etc.
Never got a reply back. I must have touched a nerve...
Ok, normally I don't like to spam here, but since the response was great, here's a heads up. I've just submitted the model again to the TF2 workshop. You can view it here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...tails/?id=2832

    Andrew Walsh to Marc

I see, is there any chance of a Trauma Center style minigame in Episode 3 where the player can attempt it themselves?

    Marc Laidlaw to me

I see Episode 3 must have leaked.

I emailed Valve a long time ago, like July or August, to ask for autographs on my games. They said yes, so I mailed them in.

I emailed them again recently. Kinda felt bad about doing it, but I'd really like to get my Portal 2 back before I get shipped off. My brother really wants to play with me before I go.

Still no response on that. You guys think they kept them as payment for the tour, or something? :B

Woah, you're kind of asking a big thing. If he didn't reply for the first time, I doubt he will reply for the second one. This stuff that "would be cool" costs a lot of money. And well just in my opinion it's kind of rude to bother him asking to give a lot of free shit.

I wasn't asking for a lot, I just thought that if people that visit the company get boxes of free stuff, asking for 2 or 3 pieces of merchandise would be a less great favour.

I don't want cool stuff I just want any piece of merchandise that we can raffle away for charity. The way I think of it is that even if he gave us one thing the thought that someone could win a valve item will entice a lot of people in my school to pay money for raffles.

    Edited:

also I sent my email on a sunday afternoon (saturday night/early morning for him) so maybe by the time he came back to work on monday it was long gone.

unless he checks his email every day in which case he probably just ignored me.

It's not really a "big thing" if your request is backed by your school.

    Edited:

I'm going to email Steam support in a few weeks (months?) to ask if I can buy valve complete packs in bulk for discount because I'm starting a PC gaming club.

wow cool, I guess you might save a bit more money if you buy it during one of the sales (Christmas mainly) since it goes down to like $50

or do you want it for less?

    well i need a licence for each computer in one classroom, so that's $50 * 24 to 32 computers = $1200 to $1600
so yeah, a huge discount would be helpful

They once said in an e-mail that in about a month they will make Steam accounts with free Portal 1/2 copies for it for students to learn or something.

He never did respond to my video email, though I know through my site stats that he (or someone else at Valve) watched it, checked out my portfolio, and forwarded the video link to a few other Valve folks. My hope was that the reason he'd forwarded it was because he got a kick out of it... but now I suspect it was for mockery purposes. Which, hey, that's fair enough -- it was pretty mock-worthy.

Still, would've loved a reply even if it was "um, don't quit your day job, lady." :)
