Right, might make an Agent there or a fixer. Maybe even engineer.

well anyway.. if you ever need help with something on RK1 feel free to ask. :)
People still active on this game? Its quite old, if my memory serves me right, isn't it?
I never tried it.. though I probably should. I'm pretty sure its free.
Game started in 2001 so yeah it's quite old. It doesn't look anything like how it was in 2001. They released 4 expansions, they upgraded the graphics engine once and they will ugrade it again soon. The basic game + the notumwars expansion is free to play, if you want the other 3 expansions it's pay to play. There's still quite a few people playing, because it's such a unique mmorpg. Most players are pay2play, but there's also quite a few free2play players.
Ah.. sound's like a good balance. I'm going to try out the f2p side of the game soon... it looks.. interesting.. :P
Hurray, sold my combined armour for 125mil! I'm set for life! :D
That's rather cheap, what exactly was it? (ql & type?)
I sold 60 xp stim sets yesterday for 500m. I wish i farmed more of those back when AO was celebrating their 7th anniversary. Hopefully they give away xpstims again once they celebrate their 8th anniversary too.
Game is fun, but theres never a group to join to do missions with.
Yeah it's probably hard to find leveling froob teams these days. Most people level in the shadowlands. There's still a few active froobspots though, Temple of the Three winds, Cyborgs, Inner Sanctum, Foremans.
Made some screenshots of yesterdays Beast raid. The Beast is the biggest, most meanest boss in the game. You need a lot of people to take him down safely.

I started playing this game a long time ago and I still don't understand it. Good game though.
Well, my NT is 220 for a while now and i'm working on getting the gear together for the final setup. I'm only wearing about 50% of the gear i want and i already rape nearly every profession in the Battlestations (except Doctors and Enforcers, too much hp)
I just downloaded this game today, it's pretty fun but it was really hard to understand sometimes in the beginning.. I just reached level 10 and then some random guy on the street just gave me 200.000 credits for no reason... :)
The game has a lot to offer so you'll be spending quite a bit of time learning how everything works. Don't be affraid to ask anything to anyone though, cause as you allready noticed, AO has the most mature and friendly community you'll ever find in a MMO.
Yeah, they're really friendly, some other guy just gave me 250.000 credits :)
Have sold 5 pairs of buffing pistols, got a nice 2,5M for all of them :D
We need and Org for this.
Yeah and I need to get a ql200 Peren for my S10 Twink so I can finally make some real monies.
This brilliant game can't be on the 2nd page. Up you go!
Booster pack coming today and graphic update closer to summertime :D
Hey guys! I guy my gaming laptop back and can play this again! Yays!
I'm trying to get into this game, but I'm having a hard time deciding on which character type I should be, and which skills are the best for that character.
I started with playing a doctor, but couldn't find any groups and didn't feel like my dps was high enough to solo as well as I would have liked.
Then made an agent, because it looked like a high dps class and that's what I was lacking with the doctor. I stopped playing it when I trekked far out into completely empty wilderness and decided the walk back wasn't worth the character.
THEN, after searching around the internet for a while for "best Anarchy Online solo class" I made an adventurer which specialized in two-handed sharp weapons, but I think I made a mistake with choosing that two-handed weapon skill, because it takes forever for me to kill anything.
Anyone have any suggestions? I think I'd like to give the Adventurer another shot, but I have no idea which weapon type I should choose.
Oh, also, when I level up, is it a good idea to go with the suggested point distributions? I don't feel like I know the skills well enough to distribute points myself, so I've been using that for all my characters, (except the 2H adventurer, which ended up sucking) is doing this a mistake?
Try making an Opifex Martial Artist. They're good for new players because they're fast, strong and have a high dodge chance. And yes, use the Suggested IP distribution button. Note that you can't use it after level 20.
Martial Artist FOR THE FUCKING WIN
Fixer > MA.
Fixers are for wussies who can't use their hands to fight!
Martial Artists are a good and cheap, easy to play class to start with. Id suggest that for newcomers.
I nearly finished all the Legancy of the Xan content, one final boss to go!
I think I'll try as a martial artist. I attempted to play this game a while ago, but it was too much stuff for me to handle and I just gave up.
Is this worth getting into?
Hey Bowser_nl, what's you IGN?
Nevermind.
I was enjoying my MA until I got stuck on a string of obnoxious delivery quests that had me running back and forth for ages to get like 200 exp.
I got my Atrox MA to level 18 and 75% of the way to 19.
Don't bother with the quests tbh. Go level to 24 in the subway, get some additional levels in missions and go the the temple of the three winds at 30. That's where you can find the good loot and xp as a froob.
I have a 220 crat on rimor, but I'm waiting for another free full IPR or a donation before I play again since my SP are fubar right now.
Used to play this and loved it, lost my chars though since i opted into an expansion trial, which i had to buy to carry on :p
Thinking of coming back and dont know what race/class to be.
Last time i played i belive i was an NT
You can buy IP resets for credits or Victory Points (it's expensive though). There's no way you are gonna get another full IPR at 220.
Yeah, the price was my issue. My character\omni-tek sucks too much to win on BS to make getting the few IPRs I need viable, and I have issues making money in AO (always have, I've been playing for a few years with countless alts.) I thought of just leveling my 120 NT up, but IDK if I have the willpower.
I stopped playing this game right before the XAN boosterpack. I played for almost 2 years straight without break (1 break in total) and I quit with two titlelevel 7's, one titlelevel 6 and one titlelevel 5. The XAN booster wasn't enought to keep me paying though.
I haven't played this game in 4 or 5 years, jesus christ.
Couple of questions:
Is the new graphic engine update out?
Any professions easier to level now? I remember MA being a little easy but it was boring as fuck.
My 220 NT destroys people on BS. Got around 800 solokills and 900 teamkills in a month or so. NTs are great fun in pvp, in pvm its kinda boring though. Making a shade right now, for pvm DD purposes
I don't really like the Xan booster either, huge questlines before u can get to the end encounters is rather annoying. Done the quests on my NT but i still have to do em on my crat. They still have to release loads of content from the boosterpack though, including a 12man raid instance and new perkresets.
Graphics engine is not out yet, they are still working on it. Some of the devs mentioned that there is great progress on it though, so it might not be too far away from release. Leveling is easy if you have the Shadowlands expansion, if you are froob then don't expect to be lvl 100+ any time soon.
Ah, thanks for the answer, I just hope it's more optimized the AoC engine, because they fucked up pretty good with that one.
I knew SL is a serious boost, but I don't think I'm going to jump right back in paying for the game. I can be a happy froob for some time.
Oh noes, Anarchy Online calls me once again....It's just such a bit getting all that awesome equipment on....but then again, that's why I loved it.
